Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Spring Township

Camellia is an amazing server!! 🙂 My family had a medical emergency during our dine in. She was calm, helpful, went above and beyond and allowed the family members to handle the situation. Camellia service was outstanding, honestly one of the best servers I have had in the food service industry in years. Besides the family emergency our dine in ended up being a a few hours. NEVER once did she sigh, roll her eyes, change in body language, seem frustrated or inconvenienced that she needed to come back to the table numerous times during our visit for either checking in on us, seeing if we are ready or if we needed more refills. She is a wonderful example as to what a server in the food industry should be, and I recommend that people train with her, and hopefully receive some compensation in doing so.

The restaurant was clean, no issues with our table or chairs being dirty. During our dine in, the tables and chairs were actively being clean after they were used.

Our food was fresh, warm, a long with the appropriate portion sizes as indicated for the type of food we ordered. My only concern as to why I only gave the four star rating for the food was there was some type of oil in some of the dishes that caused a slight aftertaste, and I was the only person in the party of four who had this concern, yet I do have sensitivity to certain foods.

My other concern was drink-related. As I enjoy having a Fresh cup of coffee, even more so for decaf as a lot of times it just sits forever, the use of a single servings can cause a slight frustration to the customer when they have to wait longer for coffee.

I really want to like this restaurant, but every time we give it a try we're left disappointed! I see all these great ads for food and drink, and they make me want to give Applebee's another chance, which is exactly what happened tonight. I saw all you can eat boneless chicken wings, thought that sounded amazing, but now I'm just disgusted. The highchair given to us was wet and had a completely black bottom, I'm not sure it mould, or just dirty, asked for a different one and they only have 2, the other one was already being used as well. Waitress was very forgetful about drink refills (we had to ask several times for them) and the waitress had to ask several times what our next wing order was. She never removed any of the dirty dishes from the table, so we kept stacking them up. My daughter ordered a kids meal with a side of broccoli, when her order came she had a total of three pieces of broccoli. I questioned the waitress if that was a full side she said yes. I couldn't believe this, so I spoke with the manager who informed me a child's side was 2 oz approximately, an adult's side is 4 oz and they just split it in half. The manager admitted that it's not actually measured they just "eyeball it". The broccoli side is advertised on the menu as being, 30 calories which is equivalent to 1 cup. First and foremost, this Apples Bee’s SUCKS! Now let me explain why: We asked for 4 Coca Colas. They arrived and they were water down. Server mentioned: We have served it today and we had the same complain. (So if you been having the same complain why did you even serve the Coca Colas without fixing the issue) Slowest service I ever experienced. Took about 1 hr to receive our food. Food quality was the worst: Steak was spongy flavorless and tough. Shrimp was undercooked and also flavorless. Green beans was OK because they are probably from steam-able bag. kids meal (cheese sticks and a corn dog) looked better than the other meals. Probably because they don’t have to cook. Waitress needs to be re-trained: No customer service, left the water down Coca-Cola on the table and I had to move the 4 Coca-Colas to other table. Waitress also didn’t offer Steak Sauce or Salt/Pepper. So I requested and she brought me a almost empty dirty sticky bottle. Poor hygiene.
