This is a "ranch" themed diner. We'd read great reviews and were excited to dine. We honestly should have kept going. The waiter was nice. Service was ok. Diet coke tasted flat and off, but we decided it was still worth a try. My wife tried to order a sandwich from a picture, but those were not on the menu. So she opted for the encrusted chicken, baked potato, and side salad. I played it "safe" with a bacon cheese burger, sweet potato fries, and a side salad. My go-to when I'm dubious about a new place. We also decided to share some mozzarella sticks. They were very hot and yummy.. even though the "lettuce" they were on was very wilted and soggy. I prayed for my salad, which came shortly, and my prayers fell on deaf ears. It was so small and again wilted. Nothing about this salad crunched.. not even the three cucumber slices. The three cherry tomatoes were nice, but they couldn't save the salad. Our food arrived on time as we finished our salads. I should have checked my meal at this point but decided to dive into the burger. It was a BBQ bacon burger (NOT what I ordered). The sauce was sweet and did nothing to hide the taste of frostbite or about to spoil meat flavor the burger patty had going on. The waiter, for his part, asked if the meal was good. I said it's got BBQ sauce. He politely asked, "Didn't you order a BBQ bacon? I said no. He said I'm sorry, I can have them excange the top bun? (I sat in shock at that and the foul taste of the meat patty) I said no.. I was not eating a burger fresh or bun, "exchanged." I did eat most of the sweet potato fries. My wife at her potato and was unimpressed and said it was overdone.. my guess is that it stayed under the warming lights way too long. I tried a bite of her encrustrd chicken. She asked me how it was. I said dry and bland, you'll need to add salt and pepper, and it's a shame we didn't bring any seasonings of our own. In the end, overpriced tasteless food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt write reviews often as Iām in the restaurant business myself - taking over a family restaurant thatās been in operation for 63 years. Itās not an easy task to rebrand in a difficult industry where anyone with an WiFi connection can give their unsolicited opinion on your passion and hard work. When youāve been in business for decades like the Ranch House, customers who frequented the old donāt like when things change. However, what these ppl donāt understand is to remain in business, restaurants have no choice, but to evolve with the times (inflation, cost of goods, heating/cooling, maintenance etc.) to survive and the Ranch House deserves some positivity bc they are doing just that. My girlfriend and I come here at least once a week for breakfast and have never left hungry and always more than satisfied. This place serves quality food at very reasonable prices for the quantity you get. Love the layout, atmosphere and decor. Ppl we see in here always look pleased and enjoy their time with family and friends. Their service is always on point. Keep up the good work...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not sure if it was the owner or if he was just helping to seat ppl but the man sat a couple who came in about 10 mins after us, he sat them immediately and when I asked him why he did that he proceeded to ask me if I thought he was racist and lie and say they were there before us. I know this cant be true because when the woman walked in she asked me if she has to give her name and I said yes and she walked up to him to give her name. When he asked if I thought he was racist I laughed along as to not cause a scene but the comment came out of nowhere. I was terribly uncomfortable. He sat us and began saying some itailian words similar to spanish I assume to let us no he was not racist but the situation was handled so poorly and him trying to speak my laungage was just awkward I gladly would've accepted if it was a mistake and a simple quick apology unfortunately at no given opportunity did that happen. The servers and the food were...
