Moving from the Bay Area where excellent sourdough bread can be found anywhere, it’s been hard to find a sourdough that compares in Vegas. We’ve been to cool hipster cafes with promising looking sourdough, until to be disappointed because it was lacking in flavor.
This place was a random find that popped up while we were in the neighborhood, and I told my husband, “the name doesn’t make sense, but bread looks promising- let’s check it out.” And I am so glad we did. The freshly baked bread has a nice crust and the bread has a good sour to it. However, the longer this bread sits out, THE BETTER! The sour flavor intensifies with each day, and sure it dries out a little (nothing the toaster can’t fix) but after cutting past the day old parts, the bread is still so moist and extra flavorful. This is definitely our go-to spot for sourdough bread and worth the drive.
We also got their soup to try out, and it’s different in a great way. The dill in soup the soup gives it an unexpected brightness and works really well with the bread.
With all of these great things aside, the atmosphere is a little lacking, and the pricing seems complicated (reasonable, but priced by the pound instead of by the loaf), but once you learn the baker was an engineer of some sort in a former life, the spreadsheet-esque menu makes sense, and the name Atelier T55 sounds more like a calculator than a delicious sourdough bread bakery- but I will not hold any of these things against them because the bread makes up for it 1000x over.
You will not regret coming here for the best sourdough...

Vegas is always ever changing. Restaurants here today, gone tomorrow within a blink of an eye. Now some of the new restaurants keep relics of the previous place, which I personally think is a nice touch as it adds a small honorable mention if you know. Especially if you were familiar with the previous place.
Upon entering, I was quickly greeted and asked if we had any questions about the menu. We did not, as I honestly searched the menu before we arrived. My goal was to pick up several baked goods.
Opted for the house sandwiches, of course, a freshly baked sour dough bread, and the sesame seed dessert. Everything was wonderful, and the interaction with the owner made the experience hands down Top Tier. That bread made for some amazing avocado toasts at my house.
Interior is quaint. There is a large table should you choose to eat in, but mainly it is set up for to-go style. There are several items for sale along with a wide array of pieces in the cold section.
Would most def recommend- pricing is a reflection of quality and presentation. The personal touches and love that is put into each of these items can truly be felt.

Read moreSourdough bread is cheaper than big box markets!! And this place makes it fresh, and with way better quality! We're not bread or carb type ppl anymore. If we do get bread, it would be sourdough. There's no dairy used in theirs. You can buy fresh bread whole, cut in half, sliced smaller, or day old breads too. We also bought a Sea Buckthorn juice that cost only $5! It was tasty.
This Romanian owner got sick of having bread full of chemicals. He was a chemical engineer before. So this seems to be a passion! They're going to get discovered.
We didn't have time to hear out the menu because our Korean takeout was abouy ready. The SO is looking forward to trying their sandwich (sandwich bread has dairy in it's bread). They also have other items from soup, savory bread, cheese and more. I think the only Romanian item is the beer...
