I started out with the Masala tea which was good, much like a chai tea latte (which is essentially what it is). Only two of the specialty drinks were available from the drink menu, the other was the Mango Lassi. A lot of choices here for sure with a wide verity of proteins. I got the alligator tikka masala which was pretty good, although good Indian food has such strong flavors I don’t know that it makes sense to spend extra on the protein outside of texture and tenderness. In that regard, my plate was very good. My wife’s chicken in her masala was very hard though unfortunately. My son got the Chicken saag so a bit inconsistent unfortunately. For an appetizer we got some naan, we tried garlic and cheese. Excellent! This along with everything else is very generous portions so I feel like you really get a lot of bang for your buck here. One order ends up being about 2-3 meals if you don’t go too crazy. Service here was really good! Server was attentive and friendly. The ticket was hand written and difficult to decipher and without prices, not a huge fan of that. The printed tickets were not itemized so either so it’s really hard to tell what you paid for everything. They could really use an update on their POS or better utilize the one they have. A lot of times, if I’m traveling for work and use my corporate card, this kind of thing can become a hassle for me. Overall, decent Indian food. Probably my 2nd favorite in town. If you want to know my favorite place, you’ll have to dig through my reviews and find it! Hint, it’s one of the few places I...
Read moreI LOVE Indian food and my husband and I wanted to give this place a try. The food was good, but the service was not great at all. We had three different servers throughout our meal. The first server took our order and never asked what we wanted to drink. He disappeared and we never saw him again. Then a second server came out and brought me a wrong order. I politely explained that I had ordered something else and he was adamant that the first server's notes were correct. I kindly explained I ordered the butter chicken curry and not the chicken curry. He said he would remake the order but it will be a while until it's done. I had to sit there and watch my husband eat his entire meal before my meal came out. My husband and I's water cups never got refilled once during our meal. So I sat there with nothing to drink or eat, and being 9 months pregnant watching my husband eat made me even hungrier. We also ordered a Naan basket for an appetizer and that came out last after our meals were out. A third server finally came a while after we were done eating to give us the bill. He did apologize for the mistake and they offered to bag up the wrong order for me to bring home, so I appreciated that. Overall the food was really good, but the service made me lose my excitement for the place. It's very hard to get someone to your table there. Maybe it was a bad night, but it wasn't a very good...
Read moreI had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Indian Oven. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and welcoming, with a cozy bar setup and relaxed seating. The decor strikes a perfect balance between casual and classy, making it great for both a laid-back evening and a dinner out with friends.
We started with crispy lamb samosas, served with tangy tamarind and mint chutneys. They were perfectly fried golden and flaky on the outside with a savory, spiced filling inside.
For the main course, we ordered:
Butter Chicken, Chilli chicken with fluffy basmati rice and warm garlic naan.
We paired the meal with a chilled Maharaja beer, which was light and crisp, complementing the spices of the food nicely.
The portions were generous, and the staff was friendly and attentive. If you’re craving authentic Nepali-Indian cuisine in Sioux Falls, Indian Oven is...
