It was a hot day, she wanted something light, she said how about a sandwich? Believe it or not, I'd never been here before. Drove past a couple thousand times, just never stopped. Shame on me.
I can't say much about the atmosphere, as it was literally about 5 minutes before closing when I arrived to pick up my online order. Place looked clean and cheery. The 2 people working (the owners possibly?) were nice and friendly.
I had the Prime Club and it was really good, I ate the whole foot long. She had the Very Berry Turkey. She really liked it. I tried a bite and it was like a turkey sandwich made after thanksgiving; very good comfort food.
We had white bread this first time because we wanted to taste the whole sandwich, not just the bread. Their white bread is light and fluffy, not heavy like some other places.
We ordered a side of potato salad and macaroni salad. I liked both, she really liked the macaroni salad (she's not a big fan of potato salad). They tasted more like what you'd find at a potluck (homemade) rather than what you'd buy at the store. Kudos!
I think next time I'll try a panini and see how that...
Read moreWhat an absolutely horrendous experience when I called after getting sick from ordering from here. I ordered the early afternoon of 11/16/24. I ate nothing else all day, but got, to say in the most appropriate manner, severe GI issues a few hours later, that very nearly resulted in a humiliating public accident. Thank god I got the code for the grocery store bathroom in time when it hit. I called 20 minutes before closing the same day and said I got food poisoning and wanted a refund. The rude lady on the phone immediately responded âabsolutely not.â She then asked what I ordered, and when I told her the sandwich, the cream cheese cucumber, she said it was impossible to get food poisoning from that sandwich. That is completely untrue. Cross-contamination is BASIC food safety knowledge, and this is coming from a physiology major who has worked in food for years. I have loved this place and would have been so forgiving if my concern was taken seriously, but her disgusting, crass, and immediately dismissive attitude and response has totally turned me off. I will call the owner Monday, and hopefully they can give some resolve so I can...
Read moreI am a big sandwich fan and typically go to the big 3 in the area. But this time I was looking for something different. Found Big Town Hero while doing a Google search and decided to give it a try. I found their online ordering very easy and comprehensive. I ordered the Super Hero with Turkey, Roast Beef and Pastrami on the Cheesy Garlic Bread. It was so nice to have so many options. I even added cream cheese (which none of the others have) and horseraddish mayo. The sandwich was Fantastic! That horseraddish mayo hits you right off, but in a good way. It was honestly the best sandwich I have had in 40 years. The bread was so soft and fresh, the ingredients were perfect. And thier broccoli cheese soup is the best as well! I will definitely be back! Update: This last time the duo only was a single and the meatball was lacking flavor. Not enough sauce. I'm sorry, but if each sandwich builder can't produce the sandwich we've had before, how can I say they are the best sandwiches? Just another shop that can't keep quality...
