Food and Atmosphere here are good, but after visiting here over the past 2 ½yrs of living near Pitchin, they have a serious problem with staff that I know the previous and current manager have said they are working on - but it's not good to the point I wish there was an option to leave 0 stars in the service category. We've stopped dining in here, and now I my use carryout because of service issues and are in verge of stopping that as well.
At times it's understaffed - other times, they staff that we encounter are rude, give serious attitude with no smile, or drive around out back and you'll find them either standing around in the open and smoking weed, or sitting in their cars smoking weed, and making the lot smell like a dispensary.
Last week I ordered a curbside order, specifically curbside because my wife had COVID, so they could sit it in the hood of my car or my trunk without any form of contact for me. I ordered through the app and paid in advance for the tip (any other time I tip cash at this place because it's.mire likely the service will suck, but again, contactless this instance). I tried calling when I arrived and the phone rang for over 10 minutes and no one ever picked up; went in masked and waited at the cashier station, no one visible in sight while standing there for over 5 more minutes as I even called out a couple times and a few tables dining, watching - fortunately the entire time, m looking at my bag sitting 10feet behind the counter, so I actually walked behind the counter, grabbed it and left. I tried calling on my drive home to inform the manager, and see what could be done about the tip the hostess received for not bringing it out, but to no avail, still no answer.
My daughter then went today for us during her lunch hour, and had a similar experience with carryout. This time the server forgot to include a qt of soup but my daughter didn't realize it until she got home. So she called and spoke to the manager while in her way back and the manager said she'd have it ready for her and the hostess would be watching for her car, and bring it out to the car if she pulled up in front of the door. When she pulled up, the hostess did bring it out the stood there (awkwardly) and my daughter asked if there was a problem and the hostess held her hand out and said "tip please?". Mind you we had already tipped when placing the order through the app...but am I expected to tip again, when we have to drive back to get something they forgot to bag? Hostesses make a full wage unlike dining room servers, who depend on tils. - I told my daughter she should've asked for the tip back to cover the gallon of fuel needed to fix their mistake. At any rate, she then drive around the lot to leave, and I served 2 uniformed employees passing a joint around with a server - again. She reported it to the manager who thanked her and is supposed to be calling corporate to send us...
Read moreI ordered online this morning for curbside pickup. It said my order would be ready at 11:01. I get there and cal like it says to do. I sit on hold for 10 minutes with only recordings, no actual person ever picked up. I go inside and I walk up to the counter where there’s 2 bags sitting on the counter and I ask the girl how much longer on Inskeep. She tells me she’s working on it. I step aside and as I’m standing there I hear the male manager yell NOT to answer the phone, they’re too busy. Hmmm, I’d still be sitting on hold apparently. Anyway, after 15 minutes of standing there I walk back up and ask her how much longer. We only order 2 breakfast meals. I told the girl with winged eyeliner that they should not promise an order to be ready for “curbside” if they have no intention of having the food ready. She told me I’d need to take it up with the manager. I was furious, Another girl walked past and heard the conversation and came around the corner and proceeded to get my biscuits and finish my order. By the time I got home and p minutes later, I opened it and the eggs were ice cold and the hash browns were soggy. Absolutely unacceptable!!! Here’s some advice Leffels lane, Stop offering the curbside and pickup if you don’t have the staff to answer the calls and cover the orders!! I will NOT ever be visiting this place again....

We had a group of 10 and it took so long to have someone come ask what we wanted to drink that everyone had already decided what food they wanted to order. After taking the drink and food order, it took 40 minutes before we got our drinks. Several of us asked for a glass of water in addition to the drink we ordered and we never received the waters. One of the people in our group didn’t even get their drink until after the food came out which was an hour after we ordered. As for the food, my wife’s biscuit was too hard to even eat and my burger and plate had burnt particles from the grill so maybe the cooks need to learn to clean the grill properly. We noticed very few cars in the parking lot and only a few customers inside. We now know why….this place has terrible customer service and food!
Bob Evans used to be a good place to eat with good customer service. What happened?! We tried this location even though we had a very similar bad experience with the Bob Evans in Wilmington, Ohio. I will not waste my time or money again eating...
