I dont know but when they first opened everything was great. Now is like some servers there barely pay attention to what you order. Sandwiches are made very poor. I asked for a pernil sandwich witj letuce and tomatoes and my sandwich looked like it was rushed when it wasnt busy amd like they probably where stretching or saving lettuce and tomatoes cause litterally i could count 2 old and soggy pieces of tomatoes and not kidding look like they took a corner of an iceburg lettuce and ripped 3 to 4 thin slices. Very poorly made sandwich also server dropped my tostones on the ground and she tried to say none fell out of the box when u saw tostones next to her feet and tried to tell me none had touch the ground. Sancocho was horrible no patitas mostly verduras was served and the taste was bland like a Puertorican rookie made it. Where is the love on this authentic cuisine?? The love for food making has gone downhill in this place. Customer service is not as great as it used to be. I used to love stopping here but after a few times of almost the same bland sandwiches and poorly made food i think i will be looking elswhere. Words spared like a virus. I hope el Morro owners read this because i am not trying to bash but not everyone has a great experience.i wish i had taken pictures of my food but my kids and i where very hungry and spent over $50 when i could have spent $30 at Mcdonalds for them. Will think very hard to stop...
Read moreThe restaurant is very clean. The dining area is a little small. Not too many tables for seating but most people take their meals to go anyway. There is plenty free parking.
The food is excellent! Nice variety of Puerto Rican food cooked with fresh ingredients and seasoned well. I've had just about everything on the menu. I don't have a favorite meal because I like them all. They serve different kinds of races and poultry, red meats, vegetables, and cod fish so there really is something for everyone. They have a few desserts. And a good selection of beverages. They also sell warm, fresh, Spanish bread. The hot sauce is made from scratch. They offer breakfast subs and lunch. Their hours of operation are reasonable but I do wish they would stay open a little later. The prices and food portions are very reasonable.
My only complaint is that I've called, a couple times, 45 minutes before they closed to place a to-go order for pickup, but they either take the phone off the hook where you have that busy dial tone or they won't answer the phone. However, if I drive there, which takes me 5 minutes, I can still order a meal. I overheard a server tell a customer they stop taking phone orders around 30-45 minutes before they close. Overall, however, I...
Read moreI have to honestly say this is the best Spanish food in the area of Springfield and surrounding cities. (Fernandez restaurant is still great but the hours of operation are hard for me cuz of my work schedule , and when they open the door the lines go out the door literally but they move fast and service is friendly and accurate ..) Now back to El Morro shoot I actually went to a few other Spanish food joints this past week cuz of people talking about how good the food was and none compare to this one so people please try for yourself because it is the ONE you will write about truth be told, you heard it here first folks, but then again anyone who has been there already knows that. The prices are a Lil more than the others but you pay for the quality seriously. Go there once and I bet that will be your new spot . I'm just saying I'm going there today matter of fact... I so...
