I used to order from here a lot and never had any issues with the food until recently. However, I just read that the place was sold relatively recently. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but it might explain some things.
When the females take the orders over the phone they are super friendly. When one of the men takes my orders, he usually sounds irritated and rushes.
I used to love getting their gyros. I had the beef and the chicken ones before. Both were authentic gyro meat. I ordered both recently and it was terrible. For the chicken gyro, instead of the authentic gyro meat, it was chopped chicken breast they grilled on a flat top, with no seasoning. It was very dry and unlike any chicken gyro I have ever had. I'm not sure if they ran out of the actual gyro meat and instead of calling to let me know they just half a** something together. To top it off, normally it has tzatziki sauce. The sauce taste more like tartar sauce. The beef was the same thing. Just as disappointing was the pita. They used to make it fresh and it was actually a hot pita pocket, perfectly grilled. I don't know what kind of bread they use now but it's like a thick, dough like disc, that is not split open like a pita pocket. It's not even grilled.
The pizza is very good! I usually order it for a group of us and everyone loves it. I don't care for the sausages on their pizza. Everything else is usually great. My favorite thing to get here are the calzones and the wings. They have the best calzones and spaghetti sauce in the area. Hopefully they don't change those recipes.
Their wings are also good but I always have to tell them to make sure they fry them hard so that they are crispy. For whatever reason they can't fry chicken wings. The skin is always soft. Never crispy. I've never had fried chicken wings like that. Lol My favorite wing sauce is the garlic parm. It's not freshly minced garlic and grated parm. It's more like a garlic parm dressing, but it's good. Their barbecue sauce is not good but it's not terrible. It's just okay. It doesn't taste like traditional BBQ at all. It tastes more like watered down, mild buffalo sauce.
Delivery is hit or miss. I normally do contactless delivery with easy instructions. Call me. Lol It's a hit when the delivery driver that has worked there for years delivers the food because he's very thoughtful, quick, and polite. He rings the doorbell AND calls. I usually tell him to leave it on the door handle, which is protected by a glass door. His tip is always included over the phone when I first place the order. The new delivery driver does not ring the doorbell or call. He just leaves the food on the porch floor. One day he did this in the rain. The bag was soaked. We have a railing but he didn't even put it on there. I'm assuming he was probably in a rush. I mentioned this one day when I placed another order and asked the employee to please have the delivery driver call me so that the food is not just sitting out and they said they would try to tell him but there was no guarantee the driver would listen.
Their grinders are excellent! I've had pretty much almost every grinder on the menu. Their garlic bread is super cheap and in my opinion overpriced for the cheap bread and garlic powder. It doesn't taste like garlic. It tastes more like toasted cheap bread and butter. I don't order it anymore. Overall I recommend. I just continue ordering the things I like. If they continue changing the quality of their ingredients and reducing them, I would likely stop...

Order: Rueben, Club Sandwich, Salad, Quesadilla. Total - $50.11.
Customer Service: I called and ordered my meal, my order was taken by a woman named 'Serdar' and that was probably the best part of this entire interaction. She was pleasant, and helpful when I called back and asked why the price was more than anticipated, she nicely explained that the 8.99 lunch specials contained less food than the 11.99 meals & tried to offer a free soda but I heard yelling in the background and she apologized and said she couldnt b/c her boss would get mad at her. Unlucky I hope you find a better job to work at your customer service skills are wasted at this place
Read moreUpdate: just tried ordering on July 10 at 3:38pm, the girl who answered the phone (not Sierra) was very confused when I asked for a cheese pizza. It took several minutes to place an order for a small cheese pizza pie. She called back 1 min later to say that they didn't have cheese pies. Her exact words were: "THE COOK SAID WE DONT HAVE CHEESE PIES, WE HAVE SPINACH." lol, ok then. Sierra was amazing! And the pizza never disappoints. Palace pizza is a little bit farther of a drive for me but it’s worth the drive. Customer service is 10/10 and so is the pizza. I’m originally from NYC and this is the closest that Spfld comes to NYC pizza. Deff recommend and will always...
