Looked around for a good place for prime rib. This came up and the reviews were supposedly good. We went there to celebrate my husband's birthday - 5 people. It went like this:
Prime Rib - "I'm sorry, we only serve those on SELECT Saturdays"... meaning Holidays if it happens to fall on a Saturday. O.o
Do you have sangria? "No. We don't make any here." What kind of drinks do you have? "Just the basics." Do you have fireball? "No. We don't have fireball here." Can I just get a vodka and sprite? "Yeah we can make that for you."
Ordered rib-eyes, filet mignon, pastas. 10 minutes later: "I'm sorry, we're all out of ribeyes." So I ordered a filet. It was more expensive and they did not offer to give it to me for the price of a rib eye - $3 difference. It's not my fault they don't have half the food on their menu!
At end of meal, we asked for 5 slices of tiramisu. ok. 5 minutes later "I'm so sorry. I know I keep telling you we don't have what you want... but we are out of tiramisu."
Our bill was $150.00 for food we had to settle for since they didn't have any of what we wanted. Half the things on their menu is gone.
I would NOT recommend going here. I think the place should just be closed down and have someone else who is more responsible, take over the lot and open some kind of business that would actually benefit the town. The Cafe that opened up down the street is constantly packed and busy and they have the BEST customer service and the best food.
LOUSY PLACE and I resent ALL The reviews with lies about this place being one of the best. It sucked big time. You don't need 150.00 worth of pasta I could...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I have had Fulgenzi's food catered at weddings on several occasions and it has always been excellent. So when my wife and I wanted to eat Italian for Valetines Day, we decided to check out Fulgenzi's Trattoria in Chatham.
Obviously any good restaurant is going to be very busy on Valentine's Day which fell on a Thursday this year. I called for a reservation on Tuesday, one of the two days of the week that they are closed, and left a message. The owner John John called me back on Wednesay and said if we could come around 7:00 he could get us in.
When we arrived the restaurant was in full swing but we were greeted and sat immediately. Service was very good and the food came out in a very timely manner. I made a point to order something I had not yet had at one of his catered receptions and was not disappointed. My wife's order was also good prompting me to order a side item that is not typically made available as a side item. The waitress was very accommodating.
As things began to wind down for the evening the owner John John Fulgenzi, who had obviously been working hard in the kitchen the entire night based upon his pasta stainded chefs shirt, made his rounds checking with his patrons to see how things were.
Later we retired to his bar area to chat with another couple that we knew that had come in just for drinks. She's Italian and gives the place her Italian blessing for it's good food, which by the way is reasonably priced for the quality, atmosphere and level of service provided.
I highly recommend a visit to Fulgenzi's Trattoria in...
Read moreI had the unpleasant experiance of eating for the first time at this resturant last night. My family received our meal but there were no roll made available. My wife and daughter would not eat there meal without the bread. It took 20 minutes to get the rolls. The food was cold by that time. The waitress knew I was not happy but offered no options. I had to ask the owner to come to my table. That is where the main problem began. He was the rudist, most condescending restaurant owner I have ever encountered. He indicated that only chain restaurant can afford to give good customer service. After arguing with him for a few minutes he threatened to call the police if I didn't pay my bill. My wife and daughter both ended up crying. He ended up following me and my family to the parking lot ranting and raving. He claims to have been in this business for 31 years. You would think that someone would have learned about customer service over that many years. This man has no people skills and I recommend that anyone wanting italian food go somewere else. Somewhere if you expect some kind of consideration for their mistakes you will get a suggestion from the management not a threat to...
