If you've never had Taco Gringo before, you're in for a real treat. We used to go to Springfield 3-6 times per year and would go to Taco Gringo EVERY time we were in town. It's a local food that really leaves you asking for more. I give the food 5 stars. The restaraunt itself is a little outdated and the bathrooms are less than perfect but seem to be in line with what one might expect from a small family-owned business. It's not bad enough to take a star off for. P.s. if you get the nachos, you should ask for sour cream and/or extra sauce because it's amazing. And if you're not sure what to get, go for a sancho. You can pick between mild, medium and hot sauce, which is another reason to love Taco Gringo.

Everyone told me this was a great place to get tacos in Springfield, but I ended up not liking it at all.

I understand that it's called "Taco Gringo" and I shouldn't expect much of anything authentic, but I was sorely disappointed. I opted for the full spice/heat, and it was pretty much just mild a heat tolerance. So if your not a spicy food fan this could be for you. The tortillas on the burrito and taco were gummy and dry, the meat was hardly seasoned, and the cheese was more cellulose than dairy.

I don't know if that's the appeal of Taco Gringo, but it reminded me of the very budget taco nights I used to have growing up in a Midwestern working class household.

The staff was fabulous, and efficient, but the atmosphere was a hard pass. No music, and all the charm of a Hardee's in late the 1980's. It was clean, but it felt uncomfortable with swarms of elderly folks in the adjacent booths complaining about people different than them existing. The patronage is hardly their fault of the business however, the vibe is just not one that seems welcoming—

I would love to try the other options on the menu at some point, maybe their fries, but for now I'll just stick to the drive through.

I want to give it...

Went through the drive thru ordered 2 chicken sanchos one medium one hot and and a 6 pack if tacos,. I recived one chicken Sancho with both mild and hot sauce. Tried to get cashiers attention and she walked away front the window for 5 minutes. Had to catch someone's attention walking past. Told him what was going on, he charged us for the chicken sancho, drove away started eating it,and it was beef, drove back asked for my money back for everything, was told I was lieing. Tried to explain that I wanted 2 Chicken sanchos not one chicken one beef. She said the issue was the sauce called me a liar again. Got my money back said that you, she told me you're not welcome. Her name was Jackie and she was the manager on duty! I frequent both the north grand location and south grand every single weekend. Went here because we were on the west end and we normally have a great experience. I have never ever been treated this way at any establishment. Can't believe I was...

We have eaten here on a regular basis, and food always good. However, on our visit today (11/17/2017), order was taken at 11:56:35 am (by Tyler - Order #25- CHECK #1740713-1 for $17.43), and it wasn't until 12:08 pm that we received our food, which was absolutely unacceptable given there was at least several people behind the counter in the food prep area; only two orders ahead of us, both which were filled within minutes, and only like two additional orders after ours while we waited and waited. There was also no line of cars in the drive-thru, which really doesn't explain the unnecessary and aggravating wait. Not very good organization today, so we will forgo any more visits to Taco Gringo for several months as a result. We had to leave early, without finishing our food inside, just to get back on time. They should be better than this, given their recent SJR awards. Extremely...
