The food was terrible, very expensive and not high quality food, and not high quality cooking. It was 19.25 for a Bison meatloaf meal which didn't taste any better then just regular meatloaf, I got dry mashed potatoes with no gravy (we were told they don't serve gravy at all, so what resturaunt in Missouri doesn't serve gravy with mashed potatoes anyways) and a little helping of mixed vegetables, and no dinner salad, the salad was an extra 12.50 FYI it was 4.89 for a drink which is highway robbery and 12.99 for a kids bowl of macaroni and cheese or a kids hamburger, which is totally ridiculous!! My fiance got a meal and it was 40.00 for his meal and 12.99 for a salad which his meal didn't include a drink or salad either. Everything was an extra charge. We paid almost 100.00 for a meal for two. We didn't even get dessert as they only had 1 choice, and it was Keylime pie, which was 10.00 for a slice of pie, and not everyone likes keylime pie. The waitress service wasnt anything special either, she barely came back to check on us like 2 times. For what we paid, the service should have been beyond excellent. For the price we were expecting a quality meal and service. We can go to Texas Road House and get a quality meal with steaks salad drinks and rolls for 2 for 60.00 dollars, and get quality service and food for less money. Johnny Morris needs to find some quality chefs, cooks, food and a better choice of food on the menus if he's going to charge that kind of money for a meal but he probably doesn't really care anyways as he's so rich he doesn't have to care. We went here at Christmas time to shop and with all the crowds shopping, there wasn't but 3 or 4 customers in this whole big restaurant including us and the couple that was with us, so that right there tells you they won't last long in business at that restaurant because they don't have hardly any business and you'd have thought at Christmas time that this resturaunt would have had been packed after all there were people wall to wall shopping that had to be hungry!!! We won't be going back as it was one of the worst meals we've ever had along with getting ripped off!!! Very, very...
Read moreOverall: HIGHLY RECOMMENT. WE PLAN TO RETURN AS MANY TIMES AS WE CAN. This is more than a place to eat.
Disabled: nicely accessible Parking & Entrances: multiple, well planned Location: very easy to find, within a mile of major freeway View: incredible, almost makes it hard to pay attention to eating Atmosphere: hard to beat, immense aquarium at very long bar Menu: unusual, fantastic, delicious, serves landlovers and oceanlovers. Salmon is absolutely to die for. I grew up in Seattle, eating freshly caught and bbq'd salmon. This is as good as I had there. Not joking. Order it a little underdone, and it will be plated with the utmost care and precision. Fried pickles are amazing---crisp, lots of 'em. Elk burgers----OMG. Very tasty. Mahi Mahi is very tasty if you like this type of fish. Mashed potatoes----delicious. I ordered an extra container to take home with me. Green beans are out of this world. Crunchy, thin, seasoned. Wow. Price: a little high; you’ll drop $75 for two people, incl tip Staff: Server Kristina is on top of her game. Manager Peter pays attention to your experience. Chef Jerry is prepares salmon like chefs in 5 star NYC restaurants. After meal: shopping & store is a destination in itself Neighborhood: w/in 5 miles of two major hospital conglomerates, will provide a welcome and refreshing dinner away if you’re there to support a family member in the hospital. Major retailers: Lowes, HD, WM, WG, Kohl’s, gas stations, groceries Roads: well marked, turn lanes well thought out, traffic predictable Store: fascinating, well stocked, hands on, well staffed, provides goods for many different types of people, non-judgmental employees that understand young children’s interest in exploring things---the many aquaria, displays, animals, waterfalls, glass elevators, abundant stairs, museums. Perhaps plan to spend a few hours in the store. Destination: if you're on a lengthy trip, this would be a good place to stop and stretch your legs. Plenty of hotels near, or perhaps they'll let you park your RV...
Read moreWe had been to Hemmingway's before and loved it.... but,... the last 2 visits, not good.
I'm starting over with my review as this seems like a completely different place than before. The service and atmosphere are amazing! Our server, Raylene, was so sweet and did an amazing job. The atmosphere is high-end and like no other. Very nice! But .... Food is why you pick a restaurant. The food looked good and the presentation was nice. My wife had the fish and chips. The coleslaw was good but came in a very tiny cup smaller than a shot glass that was obviously designed for dipping sauce. Why? The fish had very little flavor. That meal was average. For being in such a great place, there was nothing "special" about this lunch special. I ordered the cajun chicken pasta lunch. I have no idea where they get cajun. It was grilled chicken, plain, over pasta with white sauce with some parmesan cheese and green onions on top. Nothing cajun about it. The white sauce was supposed to be alfredo, it was white gravy. (And not even a good white gravy!) I can make a better Alfredo than that 10 out of 10 times. Very disappointing. The garlic bread looked great but one bite and all I could taste was GARLIC. It must have had a bucket of garlic on it!
I love BassPro and I love Wonders of Wildlife. Morris and/ or his staff have great attention to detail, like no other. That's why I am shocked at the decline in Hemmingway's food quality. I watched another table with a family of 4, they didn't look too satisfied with their meals either. They did have a burger that looked so good! I kept staring at that burger while I was eating my chicken and bland gravy/ Alfredo.. But.. our food "looked" good too. 🫤 I am just shocked and disappointed that we ate at Hemingway's and could have gotten a better meal for way less at most of the places in town. I may go back as I still have hopes, but with the results of my last 2 visits, I cannot recommend Hemingway's...
