Visited from Texas last month (May 2019). Used the app to order. Waited the appropriate and given time before leaving to pick up said order. When I walked in, there were 2 couples at tables eating, 4 employees (2 at the front, talking and 2 in the back), and no one in front of me. When I was acknowledged, it was to ask if I was Door Dash or an app pickup. When I said I was an app pickup, I was informed that they would "now" start my order. When I asked the point of having an app to order ahead for pickup if they weren't going to start until I got there, one girl told me it was because there was a rush...... Yet the 2 females were standing there conversing when I walked in, instead of working on the app OR the Door Dash order (which also wasn't started until ITS driver came for pickup). After asking who the manager was, the same girl informed me that it was one of the 2 males that came from the back. No gloves were used to prepare my order, no hair nets were used, no uniform or physical representation of the business was worn by ANY of these employees and one of the male's undergarment could be clearly seen above the waist of his drooping pants. The order was already paid for, and I'm quite certain none of these people would be able to credit my card, so the money was wasted as I absolutely was not going to eat it after what I'd just witnessed. Instead, I asked to speak to a Manager - and the OTHER female informed me that it was her (remember, the first female told me it was one of the males). I asked for a corporate number, was given a number that wasn't "accepting" messages - so did some searching to make sure I was able to make my experience and observations known. No sense of urgency in any of the employees (including management), no sense of caring about sanitation or cross contamination and absolutely no sense of professionalism, whatsoever.
I got an email back after making contact with what was deemed as corporate. It offered a pizza coupon... lol. Won't go back to...
Read moreStopped into Hot Head today to grab two burrito bowls. What I got instead was a front-row seat to chaos and culinary neglect. First off, the portions were laughable… I was handed about a quarter cup of rice like it was being rationed in a post-apocalyptic food shortage. That’s the cheapest part of the bowl, and even that was a struggle.
The veggies looked like they had been through a rough couple of days. Limp, lifeless, and just kind of slumped over like they had given up. One of the peppers looked like it needed a support group. It was honestly hard to tell if they were cooked, old, or just sad.
Meanwhile, the staff was deep in a conversation with each other and barely acknowledged what they were doing. I had to ask for nearly every ingredient multiple times because the girl making the bowls was far more interested in talking than listening. It didn’t feel like a restaurant… it felt like I walked into a group of unsupervised kids who decided to play lunch lady for the day.
In the end, I stared at the two half-hearted bowls sitting on the counter and made the easiest decision of the day. I left them there and walked out. Didn’t pay. Didn’t say a word. Just left.
If you want food that looks like it gave up on itself and service that feels like a school project gone wrong, this place delivers. Otherwise, maybe try somewhere that remembers people actually eat the stuff they serve.
The female making my “bowl” was so disinterested in her job, idk what she was focusing on but it wasn’t...
Read moreI've only been once and only to this location, so I don't know if this review transfers....
Service is subpar. No eye contact, no greeting, forgot what I ordered even though I was the only one there, no one is professionally dressed -- no uniforms it seems. Hotheads should really take a note from Chipotle and Chik-fil-A and others -- hospitality and professionalism go a long way.
Food I went here because, being from Southern California, I was missing fish tacos. I wasn't expecting anything great, not even okay by SoCal standards (like Rubios), but this was ridiculous.
The picture shows golden fish fillets with a creamy pepper sauce and the description mentions "pico" and lime. What you get is mushy pale white breaded fish cubes reheated in some quick-heat oven and machine-chopped tomatoes. Chopped tomatoes is NOT pico. Pico has diced jalapeño, onions, and cilantro. There was a sauce on it, but not a pepper sauce and I didn't get a lime, though maybe there was lime juice?
I also got a steak burrito. Good part is that they offer peppers and onions as well as sautéed squash. Everything else is very sub-standard. The steak is grey, the rice was undercooked and hard, the guacamole does not look fresh or handmade and by the time I got my tacos and made it to my car outside, the entire burrito (only partially wrapped) was cold.
I would drive a long way for a better option. I hope they improve because it'd be nice to have some competition to...
