The sushi and appetizers are delicious. The hibachi is questionable.

Several appetizers are amazing... The "Lobster Ragoons" with sweet and spicy sauce (I'll eat the whole thing, and normally I'd only eat the filling at other places.) The "Shrimp Tempura" dipped in sweet and spicy sauce and Eel Sauce! And Potstickers/Dumplings are good.

The "White Tiger Roll" is my favorite! Deep-fried shrimp, Crunchy Spicy Tuna, Lobster Salad, Eel Sauce, and Spicy YumYum Sauce. It's delicious! I like dipping it in extra Eel Sauce. The "Howland Roll" was good. The pink seaweed has a lighter taste. My fiancé loves the Salmon Sushi and White Tuna Sushi. He got me hooked too.

Not a fan of the hibachi dinners. Unless you mention not to, it will be cooked with soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. I don't care for the teriyaki. Unfortunately, the rice and vegetables are usually undercooked and the meats overcooked.

Calm, dark atmosphere. Service is lacking, they don't bug a lot, but it's also hard to catch their attention.

But, this is still our favorite for sushi and apps, within a similar distance. It's about a 20-minute drive.

My husband and I moved out here from Columbus just after Christmas. We found this little place when we were learning our way around and what is closest to us. We have been here so many times and the food has always been good and the prices are good too. Back in Columbus we enjoyed Fusion Japanese Steakhouse which is amazing but a lot pricier then Yamato. Our latest visit, my shrimp had a very bad aftertaste to it. I couldn’t even eat it. I can’t even describe it. My niece was with us this time and we ordered sushi in addition to our meals. Philadelphia roll & spicy tuna. The salmon was super chewy, the rice was old and the tuna had no spice at all. No flavor. To make matters worse, my husband and I have have been sick for two days. We couldn’t figure out what was causing this since we didn’t order the same thing........I can’t eat much rice, so a I usually give it to my husband. Lightbulb went off. Bad seafood is not just gross it’s dangerous. Sorry, not worth...

I ordered doordash from here and the hibachi filet mignon and shrimp and was very tasty and cooked very well. However the sushi was nearly flavorless and spongey.. i ordered the pick 3 sushi special of spicy tuna, salmon, and yellowtail rolls. These rolls were FULL of cruchies and also even mixed into the fish!! Crunchies are a garnish and i didnt order a crunchy roll for any of them. I ate 4 pieces before i realized what they did to save up on product and didnt eat another bite and these photos got me a refund on doordash. Id come for the hibachi only if i were any of you but definitely not the sushi!!! Even wegmans sushi is better! Possibly even gas station sushi might make you sick but would have more...
