Ichiban Buffet — Restaurant in Springfield

This place absolutely rocks, the food was so amazing I actually kind of felt sick when I left, but that was totally my fault for overdoing it. The interior decor was dated and silly but it actually kind of added to the fun of our outing that day. The buffet is stocked with anything and everything Asian you can imagine, and everything was hot and fresh and did not disappoint. They had a sushi selection that was out-of-this-world,and as I am a sushi connoisseur, I was delighted that everything they had out was super cold, fresh, flavorful, and very, very well prepared. The desserts bar was just awesome, but I'm saying that from a visual perspective as I ate too much to be able to enjoy anything they had to offer over there - lol... The staff was very pleasant albeit, most of them spoke very little English and pretty much nodded and smiled when you spoke to them directly. Food was not good at all! I was only able to eat about 1/3 of a plate. Basically just the breaded shrimp. The sushi area was completely emptied.

The main host was very kind and kept apologizing because there was not much food anywhere. He said they would make more of whatever I wanted but I didn't want to have to go up there and order one of this and one of this, ect.

It's a buffet, and not a cheap one. They should have had the food already made. The 2 types of sushi they did go ahead and make were sloppy and flavorless.

Then he brings the bill, but when I go to pay the cashier she doubles the bill! I'm not sure if the host was under charging because he knew I wasn't satisfied (due to the amount of food waste) or what but he rung it up one amount. The I get up there and she ask him some stuff, they chat a sec and then she doubles it. 🙄

I didn't complain because I have been there other times and was good. Not sure if they changed cooks /recipes or just it was just later in the evening. Probably won't go back since we have such a surplus of places in...

I went here today for a coworker's going away lunch. We got there at 11 am when they opened. The food was disgusting. The chicken dishes were either overcooked to the point that the chicken was dry and chewy, or if the chicken was breaded it was so soggy that the breading was falling off. The noodles were burnt, the crab rangoon was terrible. And the egg rolls were cooked in old oil. I have never given a negative review before. Generally I can find at least one thing that is worth the visit. But today, that just wasn't possible. The furniture is wearing out, and the laquer on the tables is cracking and falling into disarray. One table, they covered the cracks with tape in an attempt to not have to replace the table for a little while longer. If that wasn't bad enough, they raised the prices for the lunch buffet. A lunch buffet and a drink was $10.85 with taxes. I will likely not be going there again, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. It isn't a good value, nor was it a good...
