Found a hair in my food.
When I called to bring the issue up, they were nice enough to tell me that they would be willing to replace the food, but not issue a refund.
After some insistence that I would not be wanting to eat the food that I literally just found a hair in they finally were willing to compromise.
I was given a partial refund, because some of the food had been eaten.
This is a note to Panda Express itself, in case you're unaware. Unless your food is crawling with bugs or just has hair all over it, you eat the food and assume nothing is wrong. When the food cannot be eaten in its entirety then it is no longer about the food, and it becomes a service issue. This was handled poorly from top to bottom, and I am so disgusted not only by the hair. But by the service that was provided in this instance.
I encourage anyone in Springfield, Missouri that if you insist on eating at Panda Express at least go to the location on the south side of town. While I can't confirm that it is better, I can at least tell you it cannot possibly be any worse.
As for me, I will obviously not be going back to this establishment, and I intend on following up with the health department.
And just a little extra information in case anyone actually reads this and has questions. There was a LOT more food that I just couldn't eat, there was a whole other meal in fact, so while I understand the partial refund. It is insulting. It also couldn't possibly be my hair, because...
Read morePanda Express!!! I love Panda Express simply for the fact that their items are on display with the calorie count in plain view (except for the Springfield Cashew Chicken, which is only available at P.E.s here in Springfield, MO). So I know if I'm strict, I can get a full plate w/2 entrees for around 500 calories. That was tonight's plan. It's been a while since I was last at P.E.. steamed vegetables have been replaced w/"Power Greens," (90 calories). But the previous customer took the last of 'em, so I chose noodles (500 calories) over waiting 7 minutes for the next batch of greens. A lonely portion of Greenbean Chicken languishing on the steamline (190 calories) and a heaping helping of Broccoli Beef (210 calories) completed my order. Tonights process was a little off though... The kids behind the streamline were busy. (It was the evening dinner rush, "Duh.") And they were preoccupied with the drive thru orders coming through their head sets. So I meandered up the steamline while they negotiated with the voices in their head, hoping they'd offer me a sample... but that didn't happen. The couple behind me jumped at the opportunity to place their order ahead of me. So, I was kind of miffed at that. But I didn't let that spoil my appetite. The noodles were delicious even if they did blow a...
Read moreUPDATE 4/13/22: The service and quality of food at this location has improved since my original review was posted. They still struggle to keep it staffed all the time so the lobby is often closed or the store closes early, but that's a sign of the times.
I've been visiting this location for years but lately they've really been struggling. Their menu is extremely limited and has been for many weeks (maybe even months) due to supply chain issues. What's worse though is that the "chicken" pieces have almost zero meat. It's all chewy, fried breading, no meat. Just got an entire bowl of orange chicken, and I think maybe ONE piece had actual chicken inside the breading. The rest were all breading. The flavor was also very off from how their orange chicken used to taste. I ate only a third of the bowl before I had to quit because it was inedible (again). The rice is also often hard and old. I'm really not a picky person, but this location really seems to be going more and more downhill as time passes.
There are few options around my workplace but the list just got even shorter because I feel like this location is no longer an option after many bad experiences in a row. I hope they are able to resolve their supply chain and...
