We really enjoy swap meets and are always looking for a unique item or some kind of a deal. Unfortunately, we have never found anything really worth having. Most items found in this store are items that one would find when someone cleans out their home or from an estate auction. The furniture we saw was used, not that of good quality and yes, dirty. We have never been personally greeted either coming or leaving the store but have heard a few grumbles from staff about hours and pay. No customer needs to hear that. Like any store it has its pro’s and con’s. Pro- nice way to kill an afternoon browsing and digging through items and boxes. Con- I agree in that it needs a cleaner store that is less cluttered and dusty. Create an online shopping website. AND Perhaps a professional advertising company to shoot a commercial for television to draw customers in, instead of a low grade, hard to hear commercial using a fake spring, an employee and kids.
Update 5/31/2018 In response to Owner remarks below... Owner insists i am Confused about the location of their business? I do NOT have your business confused with any other! Nor the commercial, the fussy employees or my overall experiences in the store. In reading some of the other lower reviews, we are not the only customers who have had a less than average visit to the store and find the store dirty. Owner should be asking themselves what is wrong and fixing those issues instead of arguing with customers over honest reviews. People who give honest reviews with nothing to gain or lose in doing so, are giving these reviews based upon personal experience, pointing out areas where staff and owner can improve. If owner is looking for 5* reviews then please listen, learn, find and fix and turn this business into a 5* experience...
Read moreUPDATE: Dear readers of my review (below) and the owner Jim's response. I never called them on the phone or asked anything of his staff,- I was actually there in person to view a couple items and see if they're what im looking for-Jim forgets customers can come in to his shop and see the merchandise. Jim also seems to have forgotten that in addition to seeing things in person, bidders and customers alike can actually see what he's selling, because HE POST PICTURES ONLINE . There are many ways to see what any auction has for sale, so sorry Jim, " my man", but your response shows how little you think of your customers, how you respond to honest criticism and how little common sense you have. Anyone can see what you have to sell- thanks for illustrating how you don't think before you speak, but don't worry, I won't be back- ATX treats folks much kinder.
The worst customer service of any auction company in Springfield comes from the owner Jim,who is very abrasive and rude. Pro tip Jim : Springfield has loads of auctions selling the same Amazon and box store inventory as you do, in new condition too. Customer service is all you've got to separate you from the other guys. Try learning some manners, or you'll go out of business here. The folks in Springfield have too many choices to tolerate an angry little man- remember that the next time you yell at your customers. Being nice and/or...
Read moreHorrible online auction site sold me items they didn't even have onsite and then with no communication decided to not come up with auction items and just text refund receipt no explanation nothing. They apparently use stock photos how else can you list something you don't have total waste of my time and gas. Don't trust anything they say terrible service. Products in store all look like damaged returns from other places buyer beware. More lies had a witness with me very polite to staff waited to get items more than willing to come back later in the week for "lost" items no message no contact just a text stating there was a refund on my card so over an hour one way trip for 1 item waste of time no voilence at all bad bad bad company defaming people too wow. Checked out site the other day still using stock photos: beware, do your research if it looks to good to be true it usualy is; if you see the same photos on other sites then they are not taking their own photos of the items they're selling. A reputable auction site would take their own photos, using stock photos is a very shady practice as they are not a new goods store; they will tell you as much when you want a refund, they will then berade you about it, and become very nasty believe their reviews...
