Java Island Kitchen — Restaurant in Springfield

What a discriminatory establishment this is. Why did I have both of my teenage daughters say they took pictures of them after they wanted a refund for their food?! They were polite but adamant (they went somewhere else in the mall to eat- which probably caused some irritation from the owner/employee.) and it ruined the mall trip as a whole. When asked to delete the pictures. (It's over three images my children claim and they’re 17 and 15) they refused and was overall belligerent claiming my two were troublemakers.(This is their first time eating from there and second trip to the mall overall.)

I’m sure my children probably reminded them of some previous horrible customers(Teens can be cruel-it happens and I want to sympathize.) but from a mothers perspective I absolutely cannot accept this (who knows what he's going to do with those pictures? Why not get mall security, ban them or call the police to request they contact me?) I would urge black customers and female teens especially to be extremely wary going there in the future as this was very jarring and frankly unwelcoming experience.

I plan on calling the mall and anyone else to get those pictures removed from their phone. MY 17 year old was clearly upset telling me this- and she said she asked over three times for those pictures to be deleted. I even have VIDEO EVIDENCE of the guy and my child saying she didn't consent to those pictures as her friend luckily recorded. (I am just struggling to find a way to upload as I tried both Mov format and mp4 to no avail.)

Ordered for delivery. Online said Java opens at 9 and door dash was available to order at 10. However, the dasher informed me they showed up around 10:30 and the restaurant didnt open until 11. The orderes was immediately cancelled and I didnt even get to try the food due to online missinformation and horrible setting of expectations.

After getting a response on this review from the company themselves it appears there is further discrepancy about what the dasher told me and the restaurant mentioned. My record indicates that the dasher was physically unable to enter the building until 10:45 due to the mall not being open until such time. With that said it would be impossible for the dasher to be at Java at 10:30 like the response from the company stated. I stopped by on my lunch hoping to get just a fork. I asked for one and they asked what I had bought and said nothing and they just stared at me. Weird.. Maybe you’d have customers if you all were a bit more friendly and not stingy over a plastic fork. The food didnt look appetizing as it was all prepped on the buffet, so I didn’t buy anything. Their neighbors, 710 Rippy G’s, was awesome, friendly and gave me a fork no questions. Edit: They commented below saying they gave me a fork. Nooo didn't happen, but if that helps them sleep at night to think that go ahead. As to why you're showing my "picture" and "remembering" me, that's creepy.
