My boyfriend and I were down visiting family and decided to eat at Texas Roadhouse to celebrate our Valentine's Day late. We get there and luckily are seated fairly quickly, our waitress lacks in personality and has an off putting attitude when she comes to take our drink order but we ignore it and chalk it up to her having a bad day, which is still no accuse. We order immediately after getting our drinks because we are Texas Roadhouse regulars where we live and always know what we want. The first mistake is when I ask our waitress to add onion to my salad, my salad is brought back by a different waiter with no onion but before I can say anything, he's gone in a flash. So I let it go and eat my salad. Our food is brought out and everything looks decent enough, minus my sirloin being extremely fatty instead of lean. So we go on and continue to try to enjoy our meal. I'm about halfway through my 8oz sirloin and as I go to cut in to take another bite I notice a very distinct black hair poking out of my sirloin. I am absolutely sick to my stomach at this point as there's no possible way it's one of my hairs or my boyfriend's hairs because we have light colored hair. I leave the hair on my plate and leave the sirloin, move my bake potato off the plate and wait patiently for a half hour or more to get the attention of our waitress or a waiter, until finally my boyfriend is able to flag down our waitress. I show her the hair and say I'm not sure what to do because I was caught off guard and unsettled from the situation, she takes the plate back without an apology and says we will get you a new one. She comes back a second time and proceeds to tell us the manager will be out shortly to talk to us. The manager comes out and apologizes, says you know these things happen and acted like it wasn't that big of a deal that I just found an unidentifiable hair in my food and tells me they're making me a new sirloin with new sides. At this point, I'm full and extremely upset because our Vday dinner had been ruined, along with me getting to enjoy my food. Before I can speak up to tell the manager to take my meal off the bill, he's interrupted and walks off. They finally bring a new sirloin back with a new baked potato, my replacement sirloin isn't even cooked correctly, and at this point I'm too livid to care so I just let it go. Our waitress brings our bill back after awhile, only it isn't our bill so we have to flag her down yet again and my boyfriend says nicely to her, "I don't think this is our bill mam" and she replys snarkishly "no it isn't" and storms off. She brings the correct bill back finally and the manager didn't discount us one penny for everything we had been through. I should have said something but I was so upset that I just needed to get out of there asap. I am an extremely understanding person, especially when it comes to the restaurant business, as I previously worked in the restaurant business for 6 years. I have to say that our experience at Texas Roadhouse in Springfield IL was absolutely unacceptable and there is no accuse for any of it. Long story short, save your money & time and go to a different...
Read moreWe visited Texas Roadhouse and it was my husband’s first visit. On arrival we checked in and were told and hour wait and we waited approx 30 min . Paged to the hostess area and they asked us to sit on the bench and then we were greeted and escorted to our seats. Everyone seemed friendly but when we arrived back to our seats our table was still being cleaned and we had to stand by where they take orders and it was uncomfortable and we felt in the way of server traffic. The person escorting us tried to alleviate the uncomfortable pause by making idle talk but but she asked me the same question she asked when we were walking to the table. Is this a special dinner you are celebrating? And I answered no but you just asked me that question and she kinda smiled and was like oh yeah I did . Table was cleaned and we sat and our server was nice . No issues at all with her . However we did not receive rolls . I noticed it right away because I’ve eaten there before but my husband began to notice as other guests were seated they were given rolls immediately and he asked if we had to order them . We ordered our appetizer, drink, and food and still did not receive rolls. That was a disappointment. He received his salad and chili and finally he asked if we would be getting them and the server said they were out but she would bring them when some were ready. That seemed odd since we had watched guests receive them being seated all night . Our server brought us a basket of rolls then had and extra basket and offered them to us . My husband was almost finished with his salad and the kitchen brings out our main course. Disappointed again we didn’t receive the appetizer. I asked them to cancel it as there was no point to receive it since our food was at the table. Our food was filet and salmon . It was amazing no complaints about what we ate it was mostly about the communication and delivery. If rolls aren’t available at seating communicate that and follow through . Table isn’t cleaned ? We’ve already waited 30 min and prepared to wait 60 leave us outside until the table is cleaned so we don’t block traffic and the server kiosk and feel in the way before seated . When we asked for the appetizer to be removed it was and our server communicated it to us . Lack of communication will kill the service industry. Eating out cost money , many people like us can buy our own food and prepare it for much less and without the stress . If we are going to spend money we want it to be a B+ experience and something we would recommend and want to return for in the future . Every restaurant we visit when we leave we vote do we want to go back based our visit experience or try a different restaurant when we eat out again. I’ll try another new restaurant before going back . 9-28-22 was asked to respond to Texas Roadhouse survey in provided link and that was done and no return follow up or email. I’m inclined to believe the customer support is similar to the in restaurant dining experience.
As of 11-2-2022 I’ve emailed and still never received a call or...
Read moreThe waitress quickly delivered our drinks and brought us rolls, however as we were asking for silverware and plates she walked away (we were able to get her attention before she disappeared). When our meal arrived my French fries arrived with a cup of dripping ranch sauce (which I didn't order and do not like). I realize that this may be abnormal, but I don't like my food to touch anything and because the ranch sauce had dripped onto some of the fries my wife knew that I wouldn't eat them and said something. I was willing to just ignore the fries all together, but the server insisted that it was her mistake and that she would bring new ones. I cut into my cheeseburger and saw a good amount of pink (I order all my burgers well done because I don't like the thought or sight of pink meat). After looking closer I realized that the burger was raw. We flagged down the server who asked me how I ordered the burger and then checked in her order book (did she need to ask or check how I ordered it when the burger was raw and cold to the touch at the center). Once she "confirmed" that I ordered it well done she took it back and told me that she would get me another. While my wife was eating her meal they brought the ranches fries (which I picked thru as I wanted to eat them with my burger). Fifteen minutes a manager came by to check on our visit. After telling her about our visit (including telling her that this was the worst visit we had ever experienced at this restaurant) she said that she was going to go back and make sure that they get our order taken care of. My wife finished her meal and we asked the server to bring us a box and I told her that if my burger was done to put it in a box and if it wasn't I asked her if she could remove it from the bill because we were leaving (I had sat at the table while my wife ate her entire meal). When the server returned with to go boxes she told me that the burger was ready to be boxed and that she would be right back. Ten to fifteen minutes later (and after I paid the bill, the entire bill, not even a discount for the trouble) a different manager came to the table to check on us (do they not talk?). I repeated the entire ordeal to her and told her that I had been for over an hour and have had about 3 soggy French fries and that we were just going to leave without the burger. Her reply (and this floored me) give me a minute and go get you an ETA on the burger!!! An ETA???? It had been an hour and you're going to get me an ETA? I had sat there watching my wife my eat her meal, I had asked to either get the burger or get it taken off the bill so we could leave over fifteen minutes prior to her coming to the table. Her solution and idea of customer service is getting my an ETA? I'll give you an ETA on my next visit to this restaurant....WHEN...
