Kona Cafe Hawaiian Barbeque And Catering — Restaurant in Springfield

Grosssss gross grossss.....worst food ive had sonce I've moved here. If i could give them less then a 1 star i would. First off super dirty work space, open kitchen so you see everything. The food was super overly salty ....and practically got no pork which was half of what we order... but the real kicker the real reason my bf and have agreed to never go back again, is the food was old and smelled & tasted like mold... i was sick for a few days after this. I immediately went to my favorite sandwich shop to try and get rid of the sick feeling and taste from my mouth .... we spent if not as much but more money to go get better food right after. Because we had to throw away our food amd leave. I told the entire staff at the sandwich shop not to go...to even avoid it at all costs. The meat was gross, the bbq sauce was funky something was super off about it. The valcano chicken was literally chicken with sweet & spicy red chilli sauce from a bottled poured over are entire meal...ALL OVER.. So much sauce i couldnt even take more then a few bites before i stopped eating. The pineapple in the pineapple rice was old rancid, along with the cabbage which made my bf i both instantly sick. Never ever go here. I read reviews before i go to new places and i wish i could have had better info before I wasted my time and money on this place. This is not Hawaiian food, anyone who has had Hawaiian food would instantly realize this...

The Cafe sits on 46th Main have driven past this for a few years, decided tonight I wanted something different that was close to me. So Tonight I stopped at the Kona Cafe They are take out only, that was ok I had planned to do it anyway. Staff was friendly and talkative, Atmosphere was Hawaiian decorations surf boards and stuff I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, ordered the Wok Fry Noodles with Potato Mac Salad and had 2- 1/4 slices of fresh pineapple Fast Service Food was very good and filling and nice flavor. Its worth the stop if your in the area looking to take something home or back to work UpDate So I decided to go to Kona Cafe a Second time, I had such good service and food the first time, thought it would be the same. Was earlier in the afternoon I said to the Staff Member had such good food the last time I was here, its only been a few days I wanted more, said something to the effect of you wanted it the 2nd time I should have walked out right then, I ordered the same thing but it was terrible like it was scraped from the bottom of the grill had a chard taste to it. And I got it home the container had not been closed all the way so all my food was in the bag together, had to remove from bag and put it on a plate. Very disappointed this time. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE......I USE TO VISIT THIS PLACE ONCE A WEEK RELIGIOUSLY BECAUSE THE FOOD WAS AMAZING BUT SADLY THATS NO LONGER THE CASE.....THE LAST FEW TIMES IVE BEEN IN THE FOOD HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AND TODAY WAS NO EXCEPTION......SHE PURPOSEFULLY SCREWED MY ORDWR BECAUSE I MENTIONED THAT LAST TIME THE FOOD WAS SO BAD IT WAS NOT EDIBLE AND THAT WE WASTED 30 DOLLARS AND THE DARK HAIRED WOMANS RESPONSE WAS THAT THEYD GIVEN ME "FREE" FOOD BEFORE LIKE UMMM FIRST OFF IT WASNT FREE I PAID AND RECEIVED AWFUL TERRIBLE FOOD AND IT WAS REPLACED. TODAY SHE MADE IT A POINT TO SCREW UP MY ORDER AGAIN...... THIS WAS THE LAST DIME ILL SPEND THERE AND IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND HEALTH LOOK ELSEWHERE.
