I was heartbroken to see that Lovely's expansion into a new space was accompanied by the painting over of one of the community's most beautiful murals. How such a meaningful project that involved so many youth in the community didn't match the tenant's brand is beyond me, especially for a cafe centered on natural ingredients and sustainability. A captivating and hyper-realistic image of our county's native pollinators and gorgeous florals that mirrored the same color scheme and florals of Lovely's own merchandise felt like it could have been a perfect fit for a place named "Lovely." Of course, the tenants are within their right to choose to rebrand. But without communication or notice to any of the artists who created such an important piece is still disappointing, and feels like a confusing marketing choice to break the trust of the same community you are trying to serve, in exchange for a white wall. My heart goes out to the students of A3 high school just across the street, whose dedication and passion through the pandemic brought this wall to life at the same time that Lovely struggled to stay afloat. We will all miss this mural on our way into Springfield. All things considered, the food here has always been good, it's just overpriced. In my 3 years living on Main I could only justify the price of their food a handful of times, but would recommend their various pickled goods as you can't get anything quite like them elsewhere in town. I hope the new location has an improved atmosphere and expanded menu, and maybe they will engage local artists again to repaint something that feels more suitable to...
Read moreWOW! I mean WOW. This an edit to our review of two years ago. Visited Lovely today and had some of our favorites. It is so nice to be greeted by smiling people that remember you and know what you like. The new location is awesome. The seating has quadrupled. They have added staff to keep pace with their burgeoning business. Congratulations Josh and Sarah. What has changed is the same great menu from the old location with the addition of exciting new options.
Lovely" is the bomb. Josh and Sarah are the perfect hosts. My wife, Glenna and I love the food and drinks. I will not point to anything specific because we are still exploring the menu. I will say that everything we have ordered so far has been a taste delight. It's like a party in your mouth every time we try something new. The name LOVELY is perfect. Check out...

Ambiance. This is as Oregonian, bohemian chic as it gets. It gives you the coziest feeling when you walk in. It's like a curated home of good vibes. 10/10
Service. I was lucky enough to be served by both of the owners. They are gems. Kind, patient and willing to explain anything on the menu. Their staff, though occupied with work took the time to greet me, and make me feel welcome. 10/10
Food. Fresh, local, wholesome and filling. It's made with the same kind of feel of a homemade meal, with a health conscious approach and an importance placed in local fare. 10/10
Would I recommend the this place? Absolutely. Come, sit and stay a while. I'm sure you'll have a great time.
