Marisqueria Cinco de Mayo — Restaurant in Springfield

We took our family here for dinner last night. The artwork outside is phenomenal. Whoever painted this did a wonderful job.

We were very very surprised at the wonderful service we received. We had multiple servers checking up on us continually plus the manager even stopped by multiple times to check on us. If I could rate the service 10+ stars I would.

The food was really really good. Everything was cooked exactly to order. They even had a full seafood section in the menu which was really nice to see. Portions were HUGE and we have leftovers for days. These are leftovers we don’t mind heating up as they are so good.

We would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back again. We love Mexican food and this sure lived up (or exceeded) standards. We pray this business is able to make it here as we’ve seen a few restaurants come and go. We need some great restaurants on this side of 41 tho. We hate fighting the traffic on Bechtle and would prefer to eat in, rather than deal with that hassle.

We can’t thank the manager and servers enough. Service was above and beyond and we were treated like royalty. You don’t find that very often in this day and age.

Also….be prepared. Maybe look at the menu online especially if you are in a hurry. It’s more like a novel. You can find anything possible to suit all...

Springfield area peeps... you are SERIOUSLY depriving yourselves if you do not go and eat at Marisqueria Cinco de Mayo!!! Their food and drinks are so delicious and their service is excellent!!

We have had several different dishes. Personal favorites are their Carnitas (5⭐) and their Fajitas (4 1/2 ⭐, but only because we prefer the meat to be seasoned.)

The top shelf Margarita is fantastic! (I ask for a Tajin rim... YUM!)

Their portions are HUGE! Unless you have a huge appetite, expect to leave with leftovers for at least one more meal!

They have some seafood dishes that we haven't tried yet, but the aroma from them are to die for!

I know previous businesses in this location have had a bad rep, but this is NOT SO for Marisqueria Cinco de Mayo! And if the parking lot doesn't seem to be busy, remember, parking is at the side and back. And their entry is on the side of the building.

Food was rough. Service was astonishingly bad. No refills on drinks offered, waiter must have forgotten we were there because he never came back to ask about additional beverages. Ordered cheese dip and but did not receive chips to go with it. Ordered fajitas and the meat and vegetables were burned to the cast iron skillet. Facebook page advertised a Mother’s Day special of a free margarita and 25% off an entrée for moms. While we were paying, bill showed a free margarita but no discount on the entrée so when asked, the manager(?) was rude and stated the deal was only for Spanish mothers and then changed the bill to charge for the margarita and discount the entrée. This place does not care for its customers, will burn your fajitas and can’t be trusted to honor their advertised specials and then will treat you poorly if you don’t look like them. 0/10, definitely do...
