I stood waiting for near 20 minutes at the counter before anyone acknowledged me. The girl looked at me, then went back to watching the drive thru staff do their jobs and commenting on things they needed to do. She wasn't helping them either, mind you. After 15 minutes, my daughter suggested I just use the touch screen order thing. I was trying to redeem a code though and couldn't figure out how to do it. So I waited 5 more minutes and the girl finally came over.
When I tried to use the code I had, it said invalid. I told her it was probably because I had tried to enter it on the touch screen but couldn't figure it out. She told me, "Yeah if you tried to put it on that then you lost it, (which isn't true fyi). I said, I think the points go back on your account if you don't end up using them. She again said no, I couldn't use it anymore. I was hoping when I told her I couldn't figure out the touch screen that maybe she would offer to help me with it, but no such luck. I understand sometimes they are too busy, but believe me, this girl was not. We were the only 2 customers in there and they had had maybe 3 vehicles go through the drive thru during this time, and there were at least 4 or 5 people working in the back on the drive thru stuff. After a few seconds of her giving me an annoyed look and sighing, I said, ok I will just get something different then. I looked down at my phone to get a different reward with a new code, which took me about ten seconds. As I started to say the new code, my daughter said, "Mom, she left." I looked up and realized she had gone back to lean against the counter and watch the drive thru employees again. After waiting for another 5 minutes I gave up and left. I went to a different McDonald's about 10 to 15 minutes away. By the time I got there, my reward code had reset and I was able to use it.
Long story short, I will avoid this particular McDonald's on Toronto, and I would recommend everyone else do as well. Certain staff members here act as if you are bothering them when you come in and order and they let you know it too. Forget that, I don't have time for petulant teenagers. I got enough of those at...
Read moreAh, the golden arches of McDonald's. Where the lines are short, the wait is eternal, and the food is... well, let's just say it's not exactly good.
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the full extent of McDonald's infamous wait times. I waited in line for what felt like an eternity - I'm talking ten minutes here, people - only to reach the first window and be told to keep waiting. Apparently, the universe had decided that I needed a little extra exercise that day, so I was instructed to park it and wait some more.
As I sat there, watching the cars whiz by on the highway, I couldn't help but wonder if I had made a terrible mistake. Perhaps I should have gone to Chick-fil-A instead, where I could have waited in line with the 40+ cars in front of me and still made it home before my food was ready at McDonald's.
But no, I was committed to this fast food adventure, come hell or high water. So I waited. And waited. And waited some more.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I was summoned to the second window to pay. Huzzah! Victory was within my grasp! Or so I thought.
As it turns out, the universe wasn't quite done with me yet. I was told to park it once again, and wait for my food to be brought out to me. At this point, I was starting to wonder if I had accidentally stumbled into some sort of fast food purgatory. Was this my punishment for some past misdeed? Had I angered the fast food gods in some way?
Alas, I may never know. All I know is that I eventually received my mediocre meal, and I made it home only slightly later than I had originally anticipated. All in all, it was a typical McDonald's experience - long waits, subpar food, and a sense of existential dread that lingered long after the last French fry had...
Read moreI can completely understand staffing issues creating longer wait times. This is just what is going on in our city right now. That being said there is no excuse for the lack of hospitality at this location. Time after time I am the only person saying thank you and I'm the customer! The customer is the reason you have a job, but thus entire location does not know that. Worse than that the last 3 times I visited this restaurant the order was not correct. Fed up today I decided to call the store to voice my frustration. The manager that answered was not the general manager and seemed hesitant to get the general manager even hesitant to understand that I wanted to speak to the general manager which frustrated me to no end. When I firmly told her to get the general manager she responded by saying "excuse you!" Now I know the problem in this store, the managers do not care about hospitality or about the customers. This store routinely is late to open and have no problem having u wait at the speaker without telling u that they are running late or how long it will take. It is unbelievable that the managers of this restaurant have such a degree of lack of caring about their customers, their jobs, and their employers! I am done with Mcgraw McDonald's period! Try the Chatham road McDonald's and see the difference in how u are greeted, how u are treated, and the quality of the product. Trust me it is worth the small drive. It is almost like a different world. It is almost like their managers care about you as a person instead of...
