Potbelly — Restaurant in Springfield

Went there today, and it was an absolute trash fire. Had an online order for pickup, and after arriving, I had to wait for 30 minutes with no communication from the staff regarding my order. I then found out that my order was actually sitting on a table in the back the entire time, and when they finally handed it to me, it was cold, so I asked them to remake it. After ANOTHER 30 minutes go by, the manager came to me and said that they were out of certain ingredients for two of my sandwiches and I had to choose something else. Went in at approximately 11:45am to get a sandwich and was told by staff I picked a really bad time to come in (lunch time???) because they had just received a $2000-3000 online order.

I was told it would be “a while” before they could even take my order.

I understand the lunch rush but that’s when the majority of people will be coming in, maybe hire the staff to keep up.

Turning customers away that walk in the door to make an order that won’t be picked up for a while anyway is not a great business practice.

I guess if you want lunch, around lunch time…pick somewhere else because they may be too busy to make...

This sandwich shop is terrible. Their staff doesn’t listen to the orders and they are slow as molasses. Orders get screwed up consistently, especially catering orders, and the staff is a bunch of teenage kids related to the management. The owner treats the managers terribly, makes them work 7 days a week to make up for lack of employees, at times 70-80 hours per week. They can’t keep employees due to their awful managerial skills.
