My son and I came to this Rib Crib in Springfield MO. We had visited the Rib Crib in Joplin MO about a month back. I hadn't been to the Springfield location in a decade. This was a man date/early Father's Day treat from my son. We arrived about 12:45 pm on Friday 6/14. Only 4 other tables/booths with customers. So it really wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. Got seated immediately. Our hostess took our drink order with a root beer for my son and sweet tea for me. We both ordered the 4 meat platters. I had 2 orders of chopped brisket, pulled pork and the sausage. My son got 2 orders of sliced brisket, pulled pork, and sliced chicken breast. Sides for me were fries. My son got the house made kettle chips. Our order came out in roughly 10 minutes. It was certainly hot, very well plated (Joplin location our order looked like it was spooned on. It was rather disheveled. Didn't look appealing even though it tasted good). So the "eye appeal" Rib Crib in Springfield MO met completely. The sliced brisket didn't have much, if any, of a smoke ring. The chopped brisket had more fat in it. It was almost unpalatable as it was chewy and didn't melt in your mouth as it should. Smelled good and it did taste good. My son loved the house made kettle style chips and my fries were nicely seasoned and hot. His chicken was dry according to him. The pulled pork we both enjoyed. Good flavor but we both felt it could've packed more punch. Pork can take lots of seasoning as that seasoning has to work deep into the meat. The sausage I had was a bit of a disappointment as it didn't have that snap as sausage should. The meat seemed like the texture of Vienna sausage (that's the closest thing I could equate it to) which was a bit off putting. The taste was alright, not great. The root beer, according to my son, tasted really good. My sweet tea was waaay too sweet. My biggest complaint generally on sweet tea in restaurants that offer it, is it's not strong enough, not sweet enough, or both. This sweet tea was strong enough. But it was like drinking sugar water. Our hostess checked on us as needed. Made sure we had take home containers for our leftovers. We also ordered the blackberry pie. It came out nice and warm with vanilla ice cream on top. It looked real nice. The pie was completely disappointing as the crust was soggy and the ice cream tasted just like the generic stuff you get at Walmart. To say the least we didn't finish the pie. A few bites by both of us and we were done. Our hostess asked if we liked the pie and we both said no. It was money not well spent on this. Overall we had a good time. Rib Crib was very clean, organized, and we had a very good hostess to tend to us. I'm not for sure we'd come back or not. If so I'd like to try the burgers. The meat overall was alright. Nothing fantastic even though it certainly looked eye appealing. The okra was fantastic, nice and crunchy. Not soft at all. Nicely seasoned. Same for the fries. They were good. The desert was a complete miss and very disappointing. Maybe we'll return.

While out and about during lunch one day, the Hillbilly decided to stop in and have some Rib Crip. And to say I had incredibly mixed emotions about my dining experience would be a gross understatement. The food was pretty good, and my server was doing the absolute very best they could, the mere fact that they only had two servers on a Friday afternoon during lunch rush is mind-boggling to me. They had a total of 15 different parties ranging from two people to six people each. Of course, everything took a lot longer than it probably should have. And this is not on the servers at all. This is 100% due to poor management. I do not usually knock a restaurant this bad for things, but hiring and keeping people hired for your restaurant is definitely 100% management's responsibility. All in all, it wasn't okay dining experience. But it could have been much better if they could have had more servers on the floor.

It was my first time at RibCrib - although it was highly recommended by locals. I tried the three meat platter to get a sampling of what they offered and I was not disappointed. Chicken, st. Louis ribs, and brisket - all perfectly prepared - with two small sides and toast was enough to fill me up (and I'll be stealing someone else's leftovers for my midnight snack). The ribs were fantastic - fall off the bone - but my MVP was the brisket. I've sampled many rubs and RibCribs preparation and final product jumped into a contender spot for the best I've had. The staff was friendly and the restroom clean - coming from the West Coast, it's everything I'd hope I'd find in my first meal in Springfield. 5 out of 5 - will not disappoint.

Decided on a whim to try this place as I happened to be driving by while contemplating where I should grab a late dinner. I’ve anyhow been on a quest to find a good rib spot ever since I discovered how amazing ribs can be (thanks to some amazing chef in Florida). I decided on the 3 St. Louis Ribs. It comes with your choice of 2 sides, but I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have many side options for those of us who follow keto/ketovore lifestyle. I’m also gluten-free so that further limits things for me. At least they had green beans so I just asked for double green beans. The service was good and fast. The ribs were just okay, but not a lot of meat there. The green beans were quite acidic tasting though. They were edible but not really that good in my opinion. The person I was dining with asked for a replacement side after tasting the green beans and then didn’t care for the replacement (baked beans) either because they are trying to limit sugar and the baked beans were quite sweet I guess. I also had the unsweet raspberry tea and it was actually quite sweet so I don’t know what was in it. I was expecting just raspberry flavored tea but no sweetness of any kind so I don’t know what I was drinking. Maybe some artificial sweetener is in there? The menu didn’t clarify anything but this information would be nice to know. It’s confusing to receive a sweet unsweet drink. All in all, we did leave full but felt there was room for improvement. They should add more keto friendly side options, improve their green beans (less acid, and more bacon would do the trick), improve the ribs, and improve the menu to convey more details especially for...

Not exactly sure why I am giving the 5-star rating. Arrived just before noon. Visit did not start out well. Took awhile for someone to greet and welcome us. Then, we were told they were shorthanded, it would be a 15-minute wait and we would have to wait outside until they would be ready for the two of us. After waiting outside in the car and observing others arriving after us being seated right away, almost decided to head over to the South Glenstone location to see if the situation was any better over there, but I stepped back inside to find out what was going on. I was then informed we could come back in. One of those times you know you should follow your gut instinct and head somewhere else, but we were patient and gave them another chance. It then took awhile to be waited on and served, but the BBQ was great as usual and our server apologized repeatedly and profusely for the wait and served extra drink refills (thus, the 5-star rating). I felt for the server as I am sure the situation was not her fault. Guess I'll just blame it on COVID for messing up our lives! I will be so happy and relieved when everything goes back to normal, if that is even going to be possible in my...
