Whoever considers this good barbecue or even a barbecue joint to begin with does not know what Real BBQ is so I go in to order a small BBQ sandwich they do not have one available so I can refer to the kids meal but with the kids meal I have to buy two sides to go along with it well when I said I didn't want the size I still was being charged $5.99 for the salads and two sides and a drink okay well not a bad price if the barbecue was good first of all the barbecue you could even tell was barbecue it tastes like they put chili sauce the kind of powder chili you make Cowboy chili out of mixed in with their tomato sauce and called a spicy BBQ sauce you couldn't even taste the smoke of the meat because of all the seasonings that they overpowered at with I've been at many BBQ joints throughout the United States 48 states to be clear and that is absolutely one of the worst I've ever had not to mention the staff was not very friendly and also short-handed I do not suggest this restaurant for a good barbecue place to eat they do offer buffets on certain days hopefully on those days it taste better than what I had today the green beads are supposed to have bacon it did not even have bacon in it much less taste I could have bacon in it it taste like onion only onion not green beans onion and the baked beans right out of the can those bandicam baked beans like the beans and franks just like that only take the franxx out and they had a little chunks of barbecue meat that you couldn't even taste because they added some kind of sugar or molasses to them very sweet and very terrible tasting Beanie Weenies taste better than that. I don't know the area very well but some of the best barbecue I've ever had was in the South also in Texas I've even gotten good BBQ grate BBQ out west this was the worst or at least one...

So you know we don't do BBQ much outside of Texas but every now and then you gotta have it. So we stopped at Comfort Suites nearby and wanted a close place to eat. Saw Rudy's and decided to check it out. The reviews were off the chart. So with those kind of reviews you have to try it. Diane and I got the sampler plate as I like to try as many different meats as possible to get a true report on thier cooking. The sampler had 6 meats. Pulled chicken, pulled pork, sausage, turkey, brisket, and ribs. A carnivores delight 😊. It comes with 2 sides of which we chose scalloped potatoes and bacon green beans and 2 slices of garlic buttered Texas toast. The review is easy. All the meats were absolutely delicious and tender. The pulled pork, turkey and pulled chicken looked as if it could be dry but they were very tender. Every meat was cut with a fork tender. We had the sweet sauce and the Bourbon sauce, both of which were very good. The scalloped potatoes and the green beans were also wonderful. All of the portions were nice. The only slight mishap was the toast was just slightly overcooked but still tasted good. Loved that garlic butter. Overall I would have to say this is definitely some of the best BBQ I've had outside of Texas. Maybe the best. We can't recommend this place enough. Overall, highly recommended two...
Read moreMy wife and I love this place and eat here nearly weekly - they are among the top of any other BBQ joints around central OH, and we've definitely had our share :-) They are clean, and the owner and staff are very friendly.
The food is top notch - we love the brisket, pulled pork and smoked turkey (none are dry), and I've yet to find a side I don't like. Their bean soup and chili are great also. You gotta try the burnt ends at least once in your lifetime!
They are closed on Sunday and while that can be a bummer when we get a hankering for some good bbq, this decision just makes us respect and patron this business all the more throughout the week, and everything reheats/tastes just as good as it did when we bought it - fresh can be overrated at some places - so we usually order enough for leftovers to compensate if we can't cook on an upcoming Sunday. We wish more restaurants would go back to closing Sunday, and as bbq is - slow the pace of the weekly madness down. If other restaurants would follow suit, it would alleviate worker shortages around town - there have also been several restaurant studies showing no decline in profitability by doing so, as they would be increasing their own demand on the days they're open + reducing operating costs by the one day, which more than compensate for any one day loss of sales while improving their worker satisfaction - we could use a...
