Salerno Pizzeria — Restaurant in Springfield

Salerno's is absolutely delicious! If they had 10 stars or 20 or 100, you get the point-they would get them all! My all-time favorite pizza in this area. The sauce is amazing. On the sweeter side. I love it. They always and only use the best & freshest ingredients. My usual order is pepperoni & hamburg sometimes I add peppers. Pepperoni is fantastic. The great thing about peppers from them is they use red peppers!! They're sweet. YES! Green peppers give a pizza a whole different taste. Their "burg" is top-notch as is the cheese! I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I recently had a bad experience with glass or ceramic in my food. I left a voicemail and never got a call back so I called again and spoke to the owner and they didn’t want to remake the pizza and are saying they don’t have glass but there was clearly something foreign in my food. They said they’d refund me but not remake the food and I don’t have the same card anymore so I guess that’s just a loss for me. The way it was handled was rude and insensitive. It was okay. Mediocre overall in terms of the service, and taste of the food. The prices were okay, but disappointing when compared to how it tastes. Not a bang for your buck in my opinion, and I wouldn't wanna go there again. The employees weren't rude, but they definitely weren't very friendly and it felt kinda awkward and unwelcoming.
