Best. Bakery. Ever. I haven't found donuts or cakes anywhere in a 50 mile radius that can come close.
Their masterpiece IMO is their chocolate buttercream. It dries with an incredibly thin shell on the outside, staying creamy and luscious underneath, and never feels too buttery or oily. You can get a nice dose of it on a chocolate bismark donut, but it's also part of many other treats.
You can find dozens (?) of donut flavors every day, al fresh and made in the store. Or try a huge chocolate-topped peanut butter bar (so oily, but that's ok because it's too dense and rich to eat in one sitting anyway). Try a huge variety of expertly decorated sugar cookies, some with more icing than cookie, or picture perfect chocolate chip, thumbprint, and many more cookie options. My personal favorite is the gingerbread men - over 6 inches tall and simply decorated with that to-die-for chocolate buttercream. I balked at chocolate on gingerbread, but Schuler's made me into a convert.
Speaking of which. The only disheartening thing at Schuler's is the owner(s)' apparent attitude. At both stores, the first thing you see before you even get in the door is an aggressively large poster. Before it so much as says "Hello, how do you do," it seems to be wagging its poster-finger at you while warning that you WILL be wished a Merry Christmas and informed that God Blesses America, you will witness flag saluting and troop supporting, and if that offends you (and ironically this is the only offensive part: point me to one person who's ever been offended by any of those things???), well you can just - and I'm paraphrasing here - get the hell-diddly-heck out of Dodge.
It's worth pointing out, dear owner, that Merry Christmas is the only item on that list that I've witnessed here, and I've been a frequent and exuberant supporter since you opened this location. It's terribly disappointing that, without ever having met me, your loyal customer, you assume that I'm all the worst things you can imagine, so you aim to put me in my place before I ... well, whatever it is you're afraid I'm going to do. In a bakery. Where I'm buying donuts. Instead of going to the Dunkin Donuts drive thru that purposely opened right next door.
(Shaking off the absurdity.) In summary, best baked goods, huge variety, mostly good service, sadly...
ย ย ย Read moreCustomer service was not that friendly and did not accommodate needs for bigger parties. Yes, they had plenty of donuts yet, during checkout no bags to keep the donuts fresh. Do not expect any sprinkled donuts either homemade yes but mostly filled and glazed type of assortments. I was not impressed with the service at all. It seemed like they were rushing me to pick. I have to pick for the company I work for gesssh. I won't be back. Keep positive workers that keeps business. People that want to put a smile on someone's face instead of looking at you like your inferior or something. Your the one keeping them in business. Your welcome my first experience and my last. I will go to Dunkin for eternity at least they can accommodate and...
ย ย ย Read moreI went in on a Wednesday night after Bible study and order a few donuts and I wanted to order a cake. I was told just one minute tge girl that writes up the cake order was outside. I waited at least 10 minutes, finally the girl that was inside said I will write up the order although I haven't written up one. Finally the girl that was outside came in and you could tell she had been smoking. She took my cake order but didn't tell me that I had to pay up front. This Sunday 10.28.2018 after church I went to pick up the cake and the cake was NOT made because I was supposed to pay up front. I had to wait another 10-15 minutes for them to get a cake ready. I feel I should've...
