Springfield Roots Pizzeria — Restaurant in Springfield

The pizza wasn’t bad. Definitely better than dominos, but it wasn’t great either.

What really stands out about this place is that it is really apparent they don’t know how to run a pizza shop.

Long wait even though it wasn’t busy and they had 5 or 6 people working. Most of them standing and chatting. The staff was not particularly friendly especially the one girl, who seemed to be running the place. I don’t think they would be prepared for a lunch or dinner rush, but I’m not convinced they will need to worry about that.

They didn’t wipe off tables after people ate. They didn’t have cups. My kids had to use sauce cups to split their bottle of lemonade. They didn’t have the typical condiments every pizza shop in America has (crushed red pepper, garlic, salt, pepper etc.

The women’s room is out of service and locked, even though we saw staff unlock it and use it. The men’s room was out of toilet paper.

We split 2 pizzas and ate in the dining room. We had to ask for plates like the alternative would be eating off the table.

This place doesn't even deserve one star! I just hung up the phone without ordering because the owner on the other end was yelling in my ear so loud that I literally couldn't make out what he was saying. Wow!! I asked what they put in their Gyros and after he answered me I realized I annoyed him very badly for asking a question. I paused for about 5 seconds to try and figure out what he was saying. When I didn't respond immediatley he yelled some more, "mam I dont have time to be on the phone I am very busy!!". I tried to explain to him that my pause is due to me trying to understand what he said. But he interrupted with more yelling repeating he's too busy!! My boyfriend decided he would go down and order food in person and when he asked them to put cheese on the garlic bread, that comes with the pasta dinner, the owner yelled NO! They will not make modifications to the side food that come with the dinner. You get what you get. How this place stays in business is a mystery to me!!! I will never do business with this place again. Good luck to...

The staff that I work with are to be commended for their ability to consistently put out good quality food. In response to Mr James Aaron's review and critiquing of my driving. Thank you very much, sir. Criticism is always welcomed, as it can inspire me (and us) to strive to be better. While I do not agree with how you articulated your review, I understand and accept your point of view. 2 weeks ago, a deer jumped in front of me, at approximately 40 miles per hour, in a foggy area. The speed limit was posted 50. I was unable to react quickly enough to avoid taking the life of the deer as a result of the impact. I was quite distraught that a life was taken at my hands.
