Very Disappointed in a once fav spot 😔This place has always been a go to for me throughout the years…so imagine my surprise when I’ve been gone for 6 months and come back to find the staff knowing nothing about how to make vegan food.
There were two young girls running the place that day. I took my two little girls with me on a lunch date. First they had to remake my drink because they didn’t make it vegan, the juice was good tho and then we finally got our food. I had gotten the Nourish Bowl and had gotten the tacos and waffle fries for my kiddos. Kiddos food was good. Drinks were good. But here was the part that irked me:
When they brought me the Nourish Bowl, I asked “I thought the Nourish Bowl was vegan?” She nodded back at me and said it was. I just looked at it for a minute and back at her again. I took the heaping egg off my bowl. I kindly informed her that vegans do not eat eggs or animal products. Her response was just an “oh ok” and she walked off. She didn’t really seem to know about what Vegan was at all. After eating halfway through my bowl, I noticed the rest of it was burnt chickpeas (I had added that to the bowl) and burnt rice. I informed the staff and showed them the burnt food. They said sorry about that, but made no attempt to fix it. Very nonchalant attitude.
We had bought a vegan gf brownie, all 3 of us split that and it was good.
I called in the next day attempting to call the manager, didn’t get them but left a message with staff asking for the manager to call me back, but no response back was given. I am disappointed. I get not everyone is vegan or knows what vegan stuff is, but This place is specially listed as vegan and if your going to sell vegan products, you need to be able to know what vegan is. And also if you burn half the food in someone’s bowl , and I spent $60+ for lunch, I would expect either a complimentary replacement of the item or a discount on the overall price.
If you are vegan and gluten free like us just be careful and maybe make sure to double check with them...
Read moreWe went in hopeful to try a local coffee shop after finding it through Google. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. In-fact, it was flat out appalling. If I could rate it a zero or negative rating, I would. The girl at the register ignored us. We walked in and said hi and she made eye contact, looked down and proceeded to act as though we weren’t there. Four of us stood there for what felt like several minutes and were never spoken to. We verbalized that maybe we should go somewhere else to only continue to be ignored before walking out. This honestly felt discriminatory. This company should be ashamed of itself. I will gladly take my business elsewhere and will encourage everyone I know to do the same.
SECOND RESPONSE: I removed my photo off my Google account because it was an older photo and I haven't yet updated it, lol This is absolutely a real review and was the unfortunate experience my friend, her two daughters, and I had on Tuesday, December 21st around approximately 11 AM. I confirmed the time, as we immediately walked over to Starbucks where we made two purchases at 11:12 AM after being shunned by your staff. There were two or 3 occupied tables on the left-hand side and a customer on the bench to the right of entry on her phone. Two employees were working, one behind the espresso machine and one directly behind the counter-BOTH ignored us. While I appreciated your initial response and my husband and I even debated giving it another try, now seeing your second response, I'm glad we passed and this is clearly an establishment we will choose not to patronize. Best wishes in...
Read more**Edit— the Press changed ownership since my original post— and they now seem keen to hire staff that seem disinterested and unengaged. I don’t eat here often now because the past few times I tried to call in an order, they closed their kitchen 30-60 minutes earlier than posted closing time. Food is still good, thought bummed their kimchi waffle fries are no longer gluten free. They carry Onyx coffee which is amazing!!
Original post: The bowls are amazing-- Korean style in a hot stone bowl that makes the flavor/texture incredible! Lots of vegetarian, a couple vegan, and several gluten free options that still have super dynamic flavors! I love that they include veggies in almost all of their dishes. The tacos are pricey if it's not Tuesday but I come here for Taco Tuesday. I haven't tried the smoothies or juice because it's pricey and I'd rather eat my veggies-- but that's just the going rate for juices since it takes so many veggies to make a small amount of juice. Love the gluten free desserts and all the...
