My family and I had the pleasure of dining at the Storming Crab restaurant in Springfield, MO today, and we were absolutely blown away by the incredible experience we had there. If you're a seafood lover like us, this place is an absolute must-visit!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the rest of our time there. The restaurant's interior is cozy, with a nautical theme that instantly transports you to a coastal paradise.
Storming Crab boasts an impressive menu filled with an array of mouthwatering seafood options. This was our first time here and we were hooked as soon as we walked in. Our excellent waitress, Ashley, warmly welcomed us and introduced us to a culinary flavor explosion – the seafood bread that would forever alter our dining experience. The garlic-infused, buttery, and delightfully cheesy crab bread was nothing short of a revelation. Its taste was SO good we had to order more.
After finding out it was our first time eating there, Ashley gave us a recommendation to select one of the dinner combos. First, you choose your combo of seafood, that all come with sausage, potatoes, and corn. Then, you choose your boil flavor from their 5 options of flavors. Finally, you get to choose the spice level, so you can have it as mild or as fiery as you desire.
For our appetizer we indulged in a half-dozen of the freshest raw oysters available. These pristine shellfish arrived on a chilled, circular platter, nestled on a bed of ice. Alongside them were carefully presented accompaniments, including wedges of zesty lemon, piquant horseradish, fiery Tabasco sauce, and a tantalizing seafood cocktail sauce, enhancing the oyster experience to perfection.
We opted for the "#6 Dinner combo," a delightful medley of snow crab legs, shrimp, sausage, red potatoes, and corn. We decided to add a pound of crawfish and black mussels, along with a half-pound of extra sausage, that were all seasoned to perfection with their signature crab house Cajun sauce. we went with the mild spice level, and it was just the right amount of kick to elevate the flavors without overwhelming our taste buds. Each seafood item was impeccably cooked, tender, and succulent, making it a seafood lover's dream come true.
What truly sets Storming Crab apart is their unique dining experience. Forget about traditional utensils – here, you're given bibs and gloves to dive into your seafood feast with your hands. It's messy, it's fun, and it adds a delightful element of novelty to your dining adventure.
The portion sizes were incredibly generous, and I was thoroughly impressed with the value for money. The Storming Crab Feast could easily satisfy even the heartiest of appetites.
To top it all off, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional.
In conclusion, Storming Crab in Springfield, MO, is a seafood lover's paradise. With its inviting atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and unique dining concept, it's a dining experience that you won't soon forget. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving some mouthwatering seafood, Storming Crab is the...
Read moreI've wanted to go to this place for quite some time now. So I brought my adult son and a friend with me for a late afternoon meal. We got there about 2:30pm. It was perfect timing, no wait and the staff were very friendly. After we were seated they brought their seafood bread out, one piece per customer. Let me tell you... this stuff is amazing! The one piece was perfect because it is so rich. We looked over the menu and decided on a dinner combo. It was #5 snow crab legs, shrimp, sausage, red potato and corn. We got the Crab house cajun boil, med. My friend ordered the #1 dinner combo, crawfish, shrimp, sausage, corn and red potato. When our waiter brought it to our table it came in two buckets. He gave us each an over sized pie pan (not sure how to explain them). Anyway, he poured out my friends bag onto one of the plates... it looked so yummy (minus the crawfish of course...yuck lol.) In no time at all she was pulling heads off and using them as finger puppets. Lol she was keeping herself occupied. Then it was our turn, there was so much yummy goodness in that bag. It was all cooked to perfection. The flavors were very good (a little garlicky.) Next time I will ask for the traditional rub. The cajun was very messy and loaded with garlic but it still was amazing. We both ate and still had leftovers but they were slim pickins. Oh and my son would recommend the Shark Bite Margarita. I tasted it and it was good. We will definately...
Read moreI have absolutely nothing but good things to say about this place. Great atmosphere, awesome people working there (even the bartender was singing and having a good time) and incredible food! My wife and I came here to enjoy the crab and we have heard mixed reviews about the place via Google, but this is a new restaurant and we wanted to try them on for size.
Noah was our waiter and was a super-great chap who was quick to help, explain the menu to us and even gave us some seafood bread (gotta try it, it’ll melt in your mouth) on the house as a promotion with them being fairly new. Drinks came quick, appetizer was right after and on to ordering. We split a crab bucket with a pound of crab and a pound of shrimp along with sausage, potatoes and corn for sides. $55 bucks for the whole thing, not bad at all!!!
I’m trying to comprehend why this place got so many poor reviews because I can’t find a single reason to give them anything less than 5 stars. The food in itself was a 5-star experience, can’t say enough. Presentation of the bucket was perfect and enjoyable. Staff truly made the experience with their great personalities shining through! Thank you storming crab! ...
