The food and service here has taken a considerable dive. I've been many times in the past and was always satisfied, but after the last two experiences I can't say I'll return. The first was a few weeks prior where I ordered some french toast for my son. I happened to try a piece as I was cutting it up like a sort of royal taster and found it was not just salty to the point of being bizarre but it was salty enough that I'd be concerned that it'd make him sick. So I returned it and chalked it up to an isolated incident. They charged me for the lesser of the two which I thought to be pretty stingy, but whatever - I merrily paid and went on my way.
We return maybe a month later this morning and in addition to the order being wrong I'm served sausage that wasn't cooked. It was considerably pink and that's one of those meats you just don't take chances with. I don't like sending things back, but I was compelled to and after a long wait the replacement prominently featured nearly burnt sausage. There were also questionable strawberries being served to my wife and son, but we said nothing. The waiter, who hadn't been particular helpful up to that point dropped any semblance of courteousness or service, so we obliged him. The table next to me had something wrong with their order as well and that's not particularly surprising.
I really don't like to be difficult or send things back, but here we are. I hope you have a positive experience but if you go be prepared for something to be wrong,...
Read moreMy wife and I went to the soft open, hopeful that the bugs shall be fixed. We sat at the counter, don't do that. The view is literally workers standing and watching you eat ( it's where the registers are so very busy) but a bit unnerving and very tight quarters. Didn't have coffee just water and the glass I received was all that I got. Not one attempt to refill. I had a Del Ray omelet, hashbrowns and a biscuit. The omelet had chorizo and it was brutally overcooked, it my as well have had sausage crumbles in it. (Kitchen staff please learn your ingredients and how they are used) the hashbrowns we good, and the salsa served with is quite good. The Big biscuit served.....well if you're going to call your restaurant "The Big Biscuit " it should be impressive, sadly not the case, served with butter, which I applied immediately, it never melted (served too cold and was in my opinion overdone or old). Not to worry, the waitress took my plate before I finished eating and solved that problem. My wife ordered French toast and hashbrowns, she liked both. I tried her French toast and it was just okay, nothing special very little flavor. The syrup was actually given to her from the customer seated beside me as it was overlooked in the service of my Wife's order. All in all, hopes were high and the delivery was not there. Average service and average food, if they're going to be a player in the Springfield market they need to clean...
Read moreBoth springfield locations are clean and nice enough inside to be pleasant, the wait staff and hostesses are usually great. My issue is with the mangers and kitchen staff. I eat here 2 to 4 times a month usually, both dine in and take out, and pretty much always get the same thing. The likelihood of getting your food cooked correctly the first time is less than 30% if you want anything other than hard scrambled eggs and toast. That's assuming the order is even the correct cook type of the eggs, as I have been given the wrong eggs numerous times, poached and fried sound nothing alike even on the phone. I have mentioned the inconsistency of the cooking to the managers at both locations, both in person and over the phone, while they are happy to remedy the situation ad a consumer that still leaves a sour taste that your staff couldnt just take the care to get it right the first time. With the limited breakfast restaurants in town they are still decent but the lack of care and consistency on the food is only getting worse the longer they are open. Most recent order was just this morning and was given over easy fried eggs(that are both overcooked on the outside and still raw at the whites somehow) instead of the medium poached...
