Toxic Burger — Restaurant in Springfield

Went here for the very first time on 05/01/2025. I had the Spicy Cali, and my wife had the Toxic burger. Both were phenomenal. Honestly these were the best burgers either of us have had in a long time. The meat was cooked perfectly, and even though both burgers had a lot of toppings, nothing felt excessive or extraneous. It all added to a wonderful experience.

In addition we had a Little Dipper, and got both the Pineapple Jerk, and Honey Mustard sauces with it. These chicken bites were breaded perfectly, juicy, and made me wish I got the larger offering. The sauces were out of this world. I say this as a person who usually foregoes them. The Pineapple Jerk had a wonderful blend of sweet and savory with just the right amount of pineapple. The Honey Mustard was simply the best tasting Honey Mustard I've had at a restaurant.

I really liked the service and food when the Springfield location first opened up. The most recent time I went there was this evening and the women at the window was very rude. I asked to confirm my order with wanting certain things on the side and substitutions. In the end I checked my order before leaving and told her I had requested the spicy bbq sauce substitution on the side and she had given me 1 spicy and 2 sweet when I specifically ordered only spicy. The receipt reflected this and also charged for sweet bbq sauce and when I mentioned it to her she expressed it says sweet but I guess I’ll give you one spicy for free… When I tried to give her the sweet bbq sauce back she said she couldn’t take them back and shut the window on me. To top it all off once I was home, there were no napkins or utensils to eat with and the fries were extremely salty. Not sure what changed there since the last time I went there but service and quality is already...

I was excited to see toxic opening down the street from us in Springfield.

We've ordered from them multiple times, and while my wife and I agreed the burgers aren't the best quality, they're not bad.

Ordered today for lunch and picked up inside of going through the drive thru. I was a bit surprised to see that the food I ordered online was more than $2 cheaper per item when I got into the location.

While I know there are usually costs involved with online ordering platforms, usually the cost is similar unless you're ordering via DoorDash/grubhub/Uber Eats., it would be nice if it was disclosed somewhere on the site that prices online are higher than in-restaurant.

On top of that frustration today, they also got our order wrong and my chicken sandwich was poorly breaded and pretty much inedible, so I'm becoming increasingly less impressed.

I can say I'm definitely done ordering toxic online, and I'm questioning whether I'll go back...
