Cute place. Been a while since we'd been so thought we'd stop along our way today for lunch.. When we walked through the door I looked to the right and saw "the bigger" of the 2 gals working "the floor" cleaning a table. She quickly came over, looked at my husband and I and quickly said "Two?".. well, hello to you too.. she then, sounding put out, quite abrubptly told us it'd be a wait.. I smiled and replied "ok, about how long?", because we'd been riding for hours, were hungry and fine waiting a bit.. she let us know it'd be about 20min. Let her know that'd be fine. Pretty sure the wait was shorter. When we were seated I really hoped we wouldn't have her as a server (this says a lot for me).. Thankfully, the other gal "working the floor" was our server. She was far more pleasant. My attention was had to my surroundings after the feeling I got from the first woman so I start being very observant.. the bigger gal (didn't catch anyone's name so sorry for the description) continued to go about the dining area here and there cleaning a table and such.. each time I saw her or heard her coming she would sigh, sound put out of her way.. both gals wore a blue face mask, however, being the bigger gals demeanor, and especially after she went to walk by our table and stopped just beside me to cough several times, I felt a bit uncomfortable and sure that she must be forced to work this day while sick... And, thanks for coughing all over me and no, that blue mask won't stop your ICK from going everywhere... Been in the medical field over 20yrs and can tell you that if people didn't feel well enough to be at work & would just stay home the world would be a better place.... one of so many issues. But, this is a review of a food establishment, SO, to the FOOD... husband had a soup and a pretty big and pretty looking chicken salad & I had the sliders (wasn't very hungry). The sliders were MEH.. we're in North Carolina and I've had countless BBQ meats (in the Carolinas) as well as BBQ sauces... both the meat in the sliders & the BBQ sauce on the table was Meh.. Nothing special. Luckily the husband liked his food, and our server was nice. Don't think we will personally be back.

Located on a cute little curve in the road on the Blue Ridge Parkway. While I wouldn't make the drive just for this place, it's worth a stop. It's got a chill vibe, my waitress was friendly, they take cards, and the food is good. I ordered the pimento cheese appetizer and the salmon salad. The appetizer was a good size portion for $8 and came with celery and toasted bread rounds. The salad came loaded with the most salmon I've ever seen on a salad and was an absolute steal for just over $10. They've got biodegradable straws - not the paper ones that disintegrate - real biodegradable straws. They don't have wifi, which is a bummer since I didn't have a signal in this one tiny bit of NC - spoiler: I survived. There's limited parking in front of the restaurant itself but folks park on the side of the road just beyond. The restrooms were clean and cute, the restaurant was clean and airy, though sticky from the dreadful humidity. And just to say it because I didn't look at the menu before I arrived, it's not Swiss food, it's American.

Worst experience in my life! We had a group of 12 motorcyclists stop in for lunch at the Switzerland Cafe. We were seated as quickly as possible (about 20 minutes) and while we waited for our table, we went shopping in their general store. We had a wonderful waitress that was very attentive and served us promptly. When it came time to pay, we all paid via credit card at the checkout counter. While we were leaving, an older lady ran outside and asked “how did you all like your lunch?” We said, “It was great and we had a wonderful time, thank you!” Then she burst into a loud outrage saying “then how dare you leave a $2.00 tip on the table? She, (the waitress) has 2 children to support, and I want you to LEAVE and NEVER come back!!” Come to find out, this was the OWNER! We have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant! Not ONLY did we tip 20-28% on each check (5-6 checks with an average of $20-$30 per check) but we spent a couple of hundred dollars in her store. I would advise the owner of this establishment, before you open your mouth and make false accusations you might want to verify your facts!! Is tipping on a credit card something NEW to you?? We will gladly, NEVER AGAIN stop at your source of livelihood that puts food on your table and clothes on your back. Just for YOUR information, motorcyclists are some of the most giving and charitable people you will ever have the privilege of walking through your door. Word of mouth goes a long way and the motorcyclists are a tight knit family; I have a feeling you are about to...

We were excited to try this cafe, but honestly it was just okay and definitely not worth what it cost. We both ordered sandwiches. I ordered sweet potato waffle fries with mine. My husband ordered regular waffle fries. When they brought our food, my sweet potato fries were on the plate with his sandwich (panini) and potato chips were on my plate. Before we pointed out the error, the waitress came and got my plate saying that they gave me the wrong sandwich. I thought maybe that meant they brought me the wrong plate altogether. But when they brought it back, the sandwich looked the same and the potato chips were still on it. After we pointed out the errors, they brought a bowl of the missing waffle fries. There was only one other couple in the restaurant (late lunch) so being busy was not the reason. I got the special, a turkey sandwich with some bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Although it had a lot of turkey on it, the taste was nothing special and pretty disappointing. My husband got a turkey panini. I tasted it. It was slightly better than my sandwich, mostly because the panini bread was toasted, but nothing to write home about. I ordered water, my husband ordered a beer. After a 20% tip, our total was over $53 00. The prices were not on the menu, and the waitress just told us the total (before top) and handed the electronic checkout gadget to my husband. Later that day, we received an e-receipt and saw that I was charged for a soft drink. I wouldn't eat there again. It was not worth...
