Disappointing experience. Ordered the burger "special", which ended up just being a patty, bacon, and cheddar on a bun. The regular burger included lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and sauce. Confused why my burger didn't come with standard fixings, I asked if the waitress could bring that on the side. Also, learning my dry burger indeed was supposed to come with sauce, I asked if she could bring that too. When the bill comes, the total cost of my burger is $18.75. The special should have been $15. When I inquire as to the difference , the waitress said she had to charge me $3 for the fixings and 75 cents for the sauce (that was supposed to be included but wasn't on my burger). The standard plus bacon would have come out to $14. The only difference between the standard plus bacon and what I ultimately got was the type of cheese (swiss vs. cheddar). I do not think it's right the special cost $4.75 more. The waitress made no attempt to understand my POV or the disparity in the cost. She blamed it on "that's how our system is set-up" and "the kitchen decides what's included in the special burger'. She walked away and made faces at the bar tender while gesturing towards us. And while the following alone would never have prompted a negative review, since it was part of an overall disappointing experience and something I was charged extra for, I'll share the "pickles' I received were actually cucumbers. And my side of mixed veggies was luke warm broccoli at best. I understand kitchens get busy and mistakes happen. But the complete lack of accountability and poor customer service leads me and husband to opt for other dining options...
Read moreI visited last month and have been debating posting my review since I've never posted one before but I've decided the lack of accountability and professionalism was too much to overlook. The food was average at best. Well prepared, but uncreative menu items. I really should have gone to any other brewery in the city. I could not believe the length of the nails of one of the cooks who brought our food, and the FILTH under his nails was absolutely atrocious. The owner, Derek I believe, was not in the least bit hospitable nor was he willing to listen to us when we tried to raise our concerns about food and basic hygiene-- especially in the times of a global health crisis. His tone-deafness to the world situation was concerning. He dismissed us and was so smug and arrogant that I will never return as long as he owns the business, telling us he "just wasn't sure" about the legitimacy of what we were saying. I'm not sure if Derek was all there or what was going on, but I'd love to see the place under new, responsible ownership and management. Truly, truly disappointed. Spend your precious money elsewhere and support local businesses who follow better, more...
Read moreI recently hosted an event at Alpha Brewing, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! We used their private event room, which was spacious and perfect for our group of 20. We loved that we could use their audio system and had a TV we could control ourselves. The team at Alpha, especially Andrew, was fantastic in helping us play every detail (at a pretty last minute pace at that), from setting up the space to providing the catering through their on-site kitchen. The food was delicious and Alpha provides their own beer and seltzers, but also had cocktails on draft as well!
Communication was easy throughout the planning process, and they really went above and beyond to make sure our event was a success. If you're looking for a great brewery in St. Louis for hosting events (or just to hang out on their fabulous patio), with amazing food, beer, and services, I highly recommend...
