Sandwich Club STLSandwich Club STL
Strangely enough Sandwich Club STL has never done a review on Amighetti's. Its a St Louis/Hill institution. Maybe because the old location was always super busy and their wasn't a ton of seating to cater a small group comfortably. The new location(in the Hill) is beautiful bright and clean with lots of seating. We went at noon ish on a Sunday. Although busy we got a seat by the window. We ordered the Amighetti's Loaded Special (Whole) :- With sliced ham, roast beef, salami, and St. Louis style cheese. Featuring their Signature Special dressing, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and pepperoncini. We also ordered the Turkey Special (Half) :-Turkey and St. Louis style cheese. Featuring their Signature Special dressing, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and pepperoncini. We also got some chips and potato salad for our sides and fountain sodas. There is a reason they have been around so long. Our sandwiches were excellent. I loved the potato salad too as the ingredients were balanced perfect, not too mayonnaisey (is that a word ?) it is now. This place is a classic for Italian style sandwiches. Cant wait to go back and try the meatball and Beef and gravy. We loved it & will be back with the rest of our group. Cheers ! #fortheloveofsandwiches

I am giving the new location on the hill a 1 star for service because I called to place an order and sat on hold for 25 minutes before I gave up and just placed an online order assuming they were just busy. I showed up for pickup and there was barely anyone in the building, so they clearly just forgot about me. Complete joke. I ordered a few months ago and there was so little meat on my sandwich that I didn't think i'd ever go back. Well I tried again today, thinking that ordering the "loaded amighetti's special" would yield different results, but I think it was worse. I unwrapped the sandwich when I got home and was nearly convinced it was made wrong. There was barely any meat on there at all. Four meats on one sandwich and it was barely anything. I don't remember them being this skimpy 10-15 years ago when I was regularly visiting the restaurant at the old location, but maybe i'm misremembering it. The only reason i'd go back is because they are open later than other deli's in the area, deli's that have good bread and put meat on their sandwiches.

So I pass this location daily, and I decided to try them out for dinner on my way home. I ordered the lasagna with meat, an Amighetti trio hot sandwich, and a slice of apple strudel cheesecake. Let me tell you.......absolutely delicious! All of it! The ingredients used in the lasagna are so good and rich that you can't eat it all. The hot trio sandwich had a mix of different flavors that complimented each other, and the apple strudel cheesecake was, "Make you slap yo momma," good! And please excuse the daddy big bites I took out my sandwich, I was ready to bash. In closing, I cook pretty well for myself as a bachelor. So I'm very particular with any restaurant when it comes to quality, presentation, and flavor profiles of different dishes, especially anything pasta. These guys got it right! Go ahead and try them out! Tell em BigBen sent you😎 PS... Please support your local businesses and restaurants! They are here for us, and we most certainly should be there for them! Cheers

First time I've been to an Ameghetti's and was disappointed. Im a frequent customer and always get the same thing because it's a great sandwich, at least it used to be. I liked this sandwich so much I used to drive out to the Rock Hill location. Well today was such a disappointment, I ordered the hot roast beef and GRAVY with pickles and onions to go. When I opened the sandwich right away I was disappointed because normally this sandwich is smothered in dark beef gravy but not today. There was barely any gravy on this sandwich. This sandwich is usually a hot mess which is just how I like it. Barely any gravy on the sandwich or the inside of the wrapper and I only needed one napkin, usually at least 10 napkins for this sandwich. And there were barely any onions on this sandwich. Maybe the girl in the kitchen should lose the ear plugs and concentrate on her job. Won't be going back anytime soon, and if I do get a craving for an Ameghettis sandwich looks like I'll have to go back to Rock Hill to get one made correctly. What a shame because that name used to be a staple on the hill. Really really...

A friend of mine is always posting delicious food pictures from this restaurant, so I finally gave in and gave them a shot since they offer food through the delivery apps late into the night after the storefront closes. Not only did they mess my order up, but it honestly wasn't good.

I ordered the chicken parm pasta with extra meatballs on the side, and received a chicken parm sandwich ... with two meatballs on the side (lol). Weird, but oh well, I like chicken parm subs, too, so I decided to try it.

Yuck. The chicken in the sub was two inches thick and, subsequently, flavorless. The breading was okay, but ultimately tasted like generic Italian breadcrumbs and oil. Had they simply sliced the chicken thinner and/or pounded it flat, the sandwich would have at least been edible, even if the seasoning profile still wasn't great on the breading and the bread was tough.

I ordered a slice of key lime cheesecake, which was great, except that it came with icing on it that reeked of french fry grease (???).

Meh. 4 star airport food, but this hyped up restaurant is nowhere near...
