My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - "In a League of Its Own"

πŸšͺ From the moment I stepped into MountainHouse Cafe, I knew it was a place where stars align to bestow an experience deserving of a mythical sixth star. The ambiance immediately enveloped me with a sense of arrival at somewhere not just good, but transcendental.

🀝 Exemplary Welcome: On a fortuitous day, marking the first day of the second week since MountainHouse Cafe opened its doors, the warmth of a heartfelt greeting by owners John and Stella, along with their endearing pup, Piper, was the first brushstroke on the canvas of this "mom and pop" masterpiece. Their commitment to sharing the origin story and the vision they harbor for MountainHouse Cafe is heartfelt. This genuine interaction, devoid of any beverage, was the cornerstone of my exemplary visit.

🎨 Distinctive Decor: The cafe's decor is a clear departure from the cookie-cutter aesthetic of modern coffeehouses. It sidesteps the usual trappings designed for the young professional crowd, instead offering a space that's homey, local, and distinctively unique. John and Stella's choice to work with an interior designer they trusted is evident in every detail. The decor radiates an "earthy" vibe, a description that John passionately shared, which is brought to life with exposed brick and stone that lend a fantastic textural backdrop. The cafe's adornments, from the chalk art and paintings to the carefully curated art, the lush foliage, and the understated yet festive holiday decorations, coalesce to craft THE most attractive and inviting atmosphere I've ever experienced in a cafe.

πŸ’¬ Service That Resonates: The commendation for John and Stella could fill pages. Their natural ability to make anyone feel at home is a rarity I cherish. John's dedication to personalized service, accommodating my penchant for scalding hot coffee by microwaving my cup, is a testament to their exceptional service. This attention to detail, this readiness to go the extra mile, is what sets MountainHouse Cafe apart. Their comprehensive responses to inquiries about the menu, the willingness to let patrons sample different syrups of their specialty lattes, further illustrate their dedication to creating a homelike experience.

πŸ₯› Culinary Craftsmanship: The beverages, particularly the MUD/WTR latte with oat milk, underscore John's unwavering commitment to quality. It's not just about serving what's traditional; it's about serving what's best. His approach to perfecting the latte by meticulously testing various combinations until finding the ideal method speaks volumes of his integrity and dedication to his craft. The pastries, which already look tempting, and the plans to expand the menu with more delectable offerings like kombucha, assure me that MountainHouse Cafe's future is as bright as its present. This place has secured a special place in my heart, surpassing any other cafe I've visited.

🌟 MountainHouse Cafe is more than a mere eatery; it's a gastronomic odyssey that encapsulates the essence of community and culinary excellence. It's a venue that not only promises but delivers an extraordinary experience, earning it not just a repeat visit, but a lifelong...

Nestled in the heart of our community, Southwest Gardens, this newly opened coffee house is nothing short of a gem. From the moment you walk through the door, you're enveloped in a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. The ambience strikes a perfect balance between cozy and chic, making it an ideal spot to unwind, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a moment of peace.

The menu is extensive yet thoughtfully curated, offering a delightful array of immediately crafted coffees that are as delicious as they are diverse. Each cup is a testament to their commitment to quality, and no detail is overlooked in delivering a perfect brew. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just enjoy a great cup, you'll find something to love here.

What truly sets this coffee house apart, though, is the owner. He is the epitome of customer service, going above and beyond to ensure every visit is a memorable one. His genuine warmth and dedication to creating a positive experience shines through in every interaction. It's rare to find such a personal touch in today's fast-paced world, and it's a breath of fresh air.

As if that wasn't enough, this place is also dog-friendly! It's the perfect spot to bring your furry friend along, knowing they'll be just as welcomed and cared for as you are.

Honestly, there's nothing I would change about this place. It's a true haven for coffee lovers and a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I'm already looking forward to making it a regular stop a few days a week. Highly...

These people are so kind, let me start with that, before I get into this long positive review. I come in town once every other month. First time I’ve been in. To put it lightly my morning was going badly. I had rough experience with an AirBnB I had just checked out of, and my train home was going through issues. My anxiety was high. The staff (not knowing any of this) greeted me immediately and were so kind. I got table service at a coffee shop, which I honestly didn’t expect because, lol well it’s a coffee shop. When I said I would pay right away the young man told me β€œoh just hang out, we’re not worried about that.” This gesture also meant a lot to me because I had also recently experienced some racism that morning. I was having a very rough day. The staff’s kindness and concern when they learned about my train meant a lot to this woman dealing with anxiety. And oh my goodness Paper (I think that was her name) was so sweet!! The green tea I had was phenomenal, and the sandwich I tried had great flavor. Thank you to the staff for your kindness, and please folks. Go visit this new coffee shop. They are really good genuine people. I’ll be back next time I’m in town. Thank you guys πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜‡β€οΈ

Oh and PS if you guys read this review: I did make it...

I am super particular about my coffee shops, and have never found one with great coffee and a great filling breakfast (not just pastry and sweets). Great breakfast croissant and great cappuccino, super friendly and kind workers...you never know what you're gonna get these days! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, a beautiful, gracious dog came running out from the back and sat by the front door to greet each patron. This place feels like I'm being served in my own living room in the best way possible. 5 STARS

By far the coziest, most inviting, and classic home owned coffee shop in this area. The big open windows, plants, exposed brick, wood floors, local art, and calm coffee shop music fill the space with warmth. Not to mention their coffee selection is incredible and incredible tasting. Worth the visit if you are looking for a new spot! Staff were so personal and kind. Thank you for making my day MountainHouse Cafe!
