I found Failoni’s‘s restaurant through doing a search for the best pizza near me. I’m dropping area where they have amazing pizza. When I moved to Clayton, my main disappointment was no pizza within 30 mins of me that compared to what I was used to. Failoni’s for the first time about six months ago. The pizza is now right up there in my top 5 in all of Missouri. My last pizza that I ordered was about three weeks ago. I called roughly 45 minutes before closing time. I didn’t know that I was 45 minutes before closing time when I called, so when I was five minutes away I called to let them know I was almost there. Vic, the gentleman I was speaking to, there was no pizza with my name on it, that everyone had already left, apologized profusely, and said to mention his name the next time I called to order a pizza. I ordered a pizza tonight, asked for Vic, he took my order and said come on in and get it. Got there, the girl at the carry out counter said there was no charge and then went to Vic, who said there was no charge. As I was at least 45 minutes late picking up my pizza order the last time, I said there was no way I wasn’t paying for this pizza, that it was 80% my fault for getting there late that there was no pizza ready for me. The fact that he offered to give me this pizza for no charge blew me away. I could not possibly take this pizza for free knowing that it was mostly my fault that there was no pizza there the last time. I would not have been able to enjoy this pizza if I had taken it for free. This is one of those places that you don’t want to post to review for because you don’t want other people knowing about it, lol. In this circumstance, I have to post a five star review and I can’t say enough about the quality of the pizza, the quality of the customer service , and the quality of the leadership and ownership. Best pizza in Clayton...

Established in -1916
Tonight, I stepped back in time 108 years back, to be exact into the warm embrace of FAILONI’S, my dear friend Marge’s family restaurant.
This isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a living, breathing slice of old-world charm, where tradition and love simmer in the same pot as the marinara 🍝.
Walking into FAILONI’S is like being cast in a scene from The Sopranos if Tony had a soft spot for his Nonna’s meatballs or maybe The Rat Pack gathered for a family feast
Grandma herself is in the kitchen, stirring sauce with a wooden spoon that’s probably older than I am, ensuring every bite of fresh calamari hits the table with a kiss of her signature magic.
The family is as much a part of the experience as the food. Marge’s brother Joey greets you with a charm that could sell gelato to Eskimos.
Laughter echoes from every corner, most of it courtesy of Marge’s mother, who isn’t shy about grabbing the mic for an impromptu serenade 🎤.
You don’t just eat here you soak in generations of love, hustle, and the kind of authenticity you simply don’t find anymore.
FAILONI’S isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a time capsule, a love letter to family, culture, and the kind of dining experience where everyone is treated like family whether you’re blood or not ❤️.
As my time in St. Louis winds down, I couldn’t have asked for a better send-off. Pausing to soak in this old-world gem with Marge and her phenomenal clan was the perfect end to a perfect trip.
If you ever find yourself in St. Louis, do yourself a favor: skip the tourist traps and let FAILONI’S wrap you in its 108-year-old hug.
Mangia bene, laugh loud, and leave a little fuller in every way...
Read moreI forgot to talk about how much I absolutely love this place. We arrived on a busy Friday night, wanting to check it out. We didn't have a reservation and were perfectly fine waiting for something to open up. Fine isn't good enough to them, because we were warmly greeted and offered to get drinks while we waited. It maybe took 5 mintues for something to open up. It was long enough that the band only got through one song and I was only able to subject the people inside to a single Celine Dion song. When the table did open up we ended up giving our four person table to this older family who were going to be stuck waiting longer than we did.
We went to the bar and got the Flash Fried Spinach appetizer. I could have just had three more of those and been fine with my life. The family that we gave our seat up to grabbed us some cocktails and we had an awesome Old Fashioned and another really good beer. The bartender was friendly and answered all of our questions. We got two salads and sweet mother of olives, did I LOVE mine. Like clockwork when we finished our salad our pizza was ready. We just got a Thin Crust Cheese pizza, but man was it good! The sauce was sweet, but tangy, but savory, the cheese had just the right amount of pull. My fiance afterwards informed me that he only got three slices... I regret nothing, unless I never go back; that I would...
