Horrible experience last night, 1st time going to restaurant, 3/14/2021...we made a reservation on Google for 6:30, we received confirmation so we show up at 6:30, let them know we have reservation so we are sat at a table. Now the lady that sat us was not friendly at all, instead of welcoming you to the restaurant she barks an order at you to take your temperature and then says follow me sit here!!! Has a heavy accent so I am just kind of thinking it's just a cultural deal and she's probably busy so the 1st impression wasn't great but no biggie. So once sat down she then comes back with the cook who seems to be pointing at us saying we need this table for reservation so she asked me again do I have a reservation I said yes, I give her my name she goes away and comes back and everything seems to be OK. She then comes back a 3rd time and says are you sure you have a reservation, I then pull up my telephone and show her the Google confirmation. At this point we've been there for about 10 minutes, no drink order, nothing but being grilled over reservation 3 times an absolute lousy greeting , and so I get a little ticked and let her know I am not very impressed it will be fantastic if we can get at least a drink order taken she responds if your not happy you can leave and that is exactly what we started to do. On the way out I go up to the bar and ask for a manager or the owner and relay the information to him (assuming he's the owner) another gentleman with a heavy accent... I tried to explain the situation he doesn't really seem to care , we leave , the service was horrendous!!! I will not be going back and do not suggest you go either, these folks need a serious serious serious lesson in how to serve customers and they definitely need someone else to actually greet customers as they walk in the door, I heard the pizza was pretty good, but they need some serious help in customer...
Read moreLast time we visited this place was pre COVID, over two years ago.
That was our third and last time there. First time we ordered their pizza that had all the meats on it. Crust was pretty good, but all the toppings slid off the slice. It did not adhere or stay on the crust at all. We ended up with toppings on the plate ,and had to eat them with a fork. Too wet i believe.
We decided it might have been a fluke, and gave it another shot. Ordered the same pizza, as i like cured and smoked meats. Same issue, toppings slid right off.
My opinion on this is, if you are a pizza place only, themln make sure your pizzas are top notch.
Third time, we met up with friends there. Total of 4 adults and 4 small children. Kids being picky kids, wanted one cheese, and one pepperoni pizza. I asked the owner lady that served us, if we could have one pizza with no pepperoni on one side. Meaning while you are making the pepperoni pizza, you simply stop putting pepperoni as you reach the centerline of crust. Simple right? And it would save them few slices of pepperoni. We were told sternly that they do not do special order pizzas. You're Kidding me right? My request was to simply stop putting pepperoni once you reach the half line.
We ate, paid our bill and never went back. Onesto pizzeria, located on macklind and finkman is where our loyalty, money and time went from that day on. They appreciate you and don't make you feel like you are troubling them by being inside their establishment. I have swayed many people from going to Tivoli's, and suggested other restaurants instead. Treat your customers nice, and they will return. Taking them for granted, is no way to...
Read moreLocation: Tiny hole in the Wall, shotgun style building with only on street parking if you're lucky enough to find a space. Try to find parking on the side street (I think Rhodes) ave. Drivers on Kingshighway are lunatics speeding by at 40+ MPH in a 35 zone around curves.
Tip: If you're handicapped, I would advise against going: the pathway inside is very narrow. But if you do decide to go, let someone else drive and let you out.
Food: Like one reviewer said, the pizza was covered in sauce with a few dabs of cheese. Not to mention it was flimsy and fell apart. The ingredients tasted good. I had the pepperoni pizza, I think it was the #11 or #10.
I gave 1 extra star for the pepperoni; its the only pepperoni that I've had that didn't give me heartburn.
As for the prices it was $64 to feed 3 people. Portions were small but I guess the good ingredients make up for it.
Waiter was annoying but friendly (maybe a little too friendly). He constantly kept pacing back and forth at 3-5 minute intervals asking if we were done while we were still eating. I guess he was trying to pre-close but its a little early for that at 5pm.
Overall: If you like to be piled on top of people in a cramped space, have money to blow, and are comfortable with letting your car be a potential victim to the speeding idiots on Kingshighway, I say go for it.
Just...
