Vivid Cafe — Restaurant in St. Louis

To begin, this location is not one to visit if you're looking for a comfortable place to rest/study. It is more like a bar/hangout place for people, and less of a cafe where one can sit down and relax, study, work etc. For me, it was very reminiscent of hangout spots in my country. If what you're looking for is a relaxing environment, one that is not rowdy, filled with cigarette smoke, etc, then don't bother coming here. Their drinks are also sub par, nothing spectacular, just average, maybe even below that. I had the cappuccino, so maybe other drinks are good. However for me it was average or lower. Their service was average. I can tell they are kind to their guests and returning guests. Which is good, and they were welcoming.

All in all, if you want a place to just kick it, use it as refuge and chill at, etc, this would be a decent place. It's not worthy of being called a cafe to be honest, since their coffee isn't even good. That being said, I can see the appeal for some people but for those wanting that nice relaxing cafe experience, don't come here.

P.S: their most popular drinks are their espressos, cappuccinos, smoothies, and a chocolate affogato supposedly, so if you want to try those out, and don't mind the atmosphere like I do, go ahead. And they're pretty cheap too, so that's a plus...

This was not a cafe in my opinion... This was a bar. We felt pretty unwelcome from the start and should have just left. Once I tasted what was supposed to be a caramel latte with 2 shots of espresso, I wished I had left. The coffee was AWFUL and tasted very burnt, it also did not taste at all like caramel. My fiancee had the same experience with her mocha. The man who served us was very snarky and rude and pretty unpleasant all around. I'm not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from... Unless they are family and friends of the owners. This place clearly only wants a certain type of clientele and we were not it. I can tell from other reviews that the owner will very likely respond to this and attempt to label it a lie but I don't care. We ended up driving 15 minutes away to another local cafe with much better coffee and...

Not a great environment and the coffee was bad. The barista had to look up how to make a mocha. She put ice in it even though I didn’t request an iced drink. I told her it was cold and she said it was because I was cold because my hair was wet. And I told her this didn’t taste like a mocha and she pointed to the chart she looked at and told me I was wrong.

Yeah...and the owner's reply is not an accurate description of what happened. The first thing I asked was "do you do to-go drinks and do you make mochas," and the barista responded "yes" then turned to the directions for a mocha were on a chart on the wall. No other menu was available. No one asked what I liked; I'm generally fine with a standard hot mocha--I was not asked if I wanted it iced but received a cold drink...
