I'm from Texas so I had to try Bbq while I was here in St. Louis. We ordered the Barrel for 4 which included whole chicken, 1lb your choice meat, 1 rack ribs, 4 sides and garlic bread. The sides we chose were potatoe salad, fried corn, Mac and cheese, and green beans. We also ordered extra which to include turkey, sausage and extra brisket. 1st the ribs were pretty tasty. They had a semisweet sauce on them and were soft almost falling off the bone. 2nd our choice meat was brisket was juicy, but lacked flavor. I didn't taste any smokiness or anything. No rub was in the brisket whatsoever. The only think it had going for it was it being tender. 3rd the sausage was moist as well, but seemed to lack flavor as well. It didn't even taste like it was cooked on the pit. 4th the chicken did taste like it came off the pit, was juicy, and I did taste the smokiness which was to my liking. 5th the turkey was tender and on point 👌. It was smokey and just right me likey. Now, the sides. The Mac and cheese was ok. I like my Mac and cheese to be cheesy, but it didn't lack flavor so it was ok in my book. The fried corn is what it was just fried, the potatoe salad um NO. If you like sweet and more on the mashy side then more power to you. Not me. The green beans though were on point full of flavor and garlicky me likey 👍. The garlic bread was buttery and soft I mean it was garlic bread so it was good. Lol All in all it was ok with some hit and misses, but if you're needing a quick Bbq fix this would be the place.

My husband and I decided to give Smoking Barrels BBQ a try despite seeing the mixed reviews — and honestly, I get why opinions are all over the place. A real chef or BBQ enthusiast can tell the difference. We ordered 2 lbs of rib tips, two boxes of pulled pork mixed with brisket, fried okra, and potato casserole. I'll start with the positives: the okra was fried perfectly — nice and crisp — and the potato casserole truly made me smile. It tasted exactly like the one my mother makes for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year, so that was a sweet surprise. However, the rest of the experience was just average at best. The rib tips had a good flavor but were extremely dry, and they didn’t seem grilled at all — more like they were baked, just as other reviews mentioned prior. Long time customer’s can also tell the difference because people mentioned the brisket and chicken being baked also .. hence why the food is greasy and dry. It’s obvious. The pulled pork mixed with brisket honestly tasted like the Jack Daniel’s microwaveable pulled pork from the grocery store — not something I expect when paying restaurant prices. Potion size for the potato casserole was small. As for the garlic bread, it was just okay — not memorable. Tastes nothing like garlic. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience. I wanted to love it, but there are too many better BBQ spots in St. Louis to roll the dice again here.

Everything about our experience here was great. The food was great the service was great everything was just great. Would definitely recommend coming here they have some really good ribs and brisket Mac and cheese was good and the sauces were all, well, great! Need to try more BBQ here in St. Louis so to be able to compare. Good beginning though and we will see what we see while we're here! We got a three meat sampler for only $23 and decided to get double ribs in the brisket. Came with a couple sides which we got the mac and cheese which was great with some of the Carolina mustard sauce on it. Also got the fried okra which was unbelievable, you have to go here just to get fried okra if you get anything! Did not get too many photos of the food because of the fingers and all being a little messy but the brisket is underneath the pile of ribs there and a decent amount of it. The ribs were clean off the bone also. They're hot sauce was the best if you ask me. Oh yeah the lil buttered toasted bread they give us delicious as well.

First time ever having Smoking Barrels BBQ since I moved back to MO from 6 years out of state for work. Here is my impression of Smoking Barrels BBQ.

The food quality was actually pretty good. Above average for sure for BBQ. Our garlic bread was a bit soft, but to be fair we ordered it for delivery - so that is expected. The pulled pork was delicious, and the sauce was very good.

The reason I am leaving a 2 star review however....

As I said before, we ordered delivery. I was VERY disappointed with the portion size for delivery. And believe me, I don't mean it was just underwhelming... For example, we ordered Mac N cheese, and they literally put it in what appeared to be sauce cups... Could you imagine? Ordering a platter for $17, and you get a side in a freaking small little sauce cup? That was so disappointing for all of us. On top of that, we were deceived with what we ordered. For example, one of our sides had Garlic Bread as a choice, offering 3 pieces as a side - OOPS! Didn't happen. Both platters that ordered Garlic bread as a side received just a single piece. Then the orders that had 2 sides, both were VERY underwhelming - like I said, in a small little sauce cups. I have had food in the past where restaurants were very much NOT generous... but this was insane. I have never seen, in my life, a small little sauce cup with mac n' cheese in it as a "Side" until I saw what one of us ordered as a side. That is just such a rip off. We basically paid $17 for a petri dish of pulled pork. LIKE I SAID, it was good.... but wow. You guys should be more generous with portions if you're going to charge $17 for a some pulled pork and...

I ordered from this restaurant for delivery based upon the great Google Reviews that I had been reading online. I am sorry to say that it was a complete let down. I ordered via Uber eats. They didn't bother to apologize for not delivering my iced tea. I called the store directly and spoke with someone named Chris. They were very defensive, and made me feel like it was my fault for adding on an iced tea to my order which was allowed via the Uber Eats app. I paid for it and tipped a second time. Moving onto the food: I guess you have to eat in-person to get good barbecue. Two-Meat Combo, 4 oz. brisket and 4 oz. rib tips with 2 sides, mac-n-cheese, and potato casserole. This food was the worst barbecue that I have ever tasted in my life. It lacked seasoning, the brisket was full of fat, the rib-tips were fatty and tough on the outside, the Spicy Texas sauce that I ordered looked like brown water in the to-go cup. I was afraid to put it on my brisket and rib tips. There was no flavor from the sauce once I decided to pour it over the meat. The meat was full of fat, the mac-n-cheese was just noodles and watery, cheese-like sauce, the potato casserole tasted old and bland. I could not tell that I was eating potatoes at all. I paid for an $18.00 plate only to be let down and disappointed. I pitched the food because it was inedible. Uber Eats refused to issue a refund or credit. This was such a waste of time and money. I will stick to eating at Pappy's, Bogart's, and Sugarfire, the REAL Smokehouses of...
