Soul Kitchen is a hidden gem that beautifully blends Southern comfort with bold, creative twists. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting — and the menu? Absolutely mouthwatering.
The Soul Deep Shrimp N’ Grits is a standout. The shrimp are perfectly pan-seared and served over creamy gouda grits that are rich and comforting, with just the right balance of butter, garlic, and spices.
If you’re into dips, don’t miss the Soulful Kick Hummus. It’s a smoky, creamy blend of roasted red pepper and chickpeas, elevated with pimento cheese and served with fresh pita and crispy veggies — a perfect starter for sharing.
For meat lovers, the Delta Dragon Sticky Ribs are a must-try. Lightly battered pork ribs fried to crispy perfection and glazed in a sweet and tangy sauce, served with a side of pickled veggies for an added punch of flavor.
Even the sides shine. The Southern Buttermilk Skillet Cornbread is fluffy and indulgent, with maple-miso whipped butter and sweet-spicy candied pecans — pure heaven. And the Country Feta Broccolini is a refreshing, zesty veggie option, lightly charred and tossed in garlic, lemon, and creamy feta.
This place doesn’t just serve food — it serves soul on a plate. Whether you’re a foodie, a fan of Southern cuisine, or just looking for a unique dining experience, Soul Kitchen hits all the...
Read moreWe were a party of three and had heard great things about this place, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The service was honestly unlike anything we’ve experienced before—and not in a good way.
We were seated right away and handed both drink and food menus. So far, so good. But every time we tried to place an order, our server would walk away to “check on something.” This happened multiple times. Eventually, when we finally thought we could order, she returned with a completely different “late night menu,” handed it to us, and walked off again.
When we tried to order from that one, she told us the kitchen didn’t open until 10 p.m.—and it was only 9:30. So she refused to take our order and said she’d be back… but instead stood around on her phone and never returned.
To top it off, our drinks weren’t anything special, so we couldn’t even enjoy those while waiting. By the time it was close to 10, she still hadn’t checked on us, and at that point, we were over it. We left and ended up eating somewhere else.
Mind you—we arrived around 9 p.m. We wasted an hour sitting there, hungry and confused. If food isn’t available until 10, don’t hand out a menu at 9 and let people think otherwise. A simple heads-up would’ve saved us the time and frustration.
We genuinely wanted to support this business, but sadly, we...
Read moreThis place has been on my list of places to try for a minute. When we got there we were told to go to outside seating when there were seats open inside as well. We sit outside and it took 30min-1hr to get a menu from the waitress. Then when we got a menu it took almost 2 hours to get our order taken!!! We finally place our order and the menu says wings and fries are $15 but we got charged extra for a side of fries. The food finally comes out for my friend and she received 7 wings and was told that she received extra for there being no fries. I had to proceed to wait an extra 15 minutes for my food when we ordered at the same time. When my food came out I received 6 wings (still no fries). Keep in mind the wings are the size of my pinky! If our order was taken in a timely manner we would've had our full meal. I’m laughing away the pain cause ain’t no way I spent $20 for 6 wings. We couldn’t order drinks through the waiter cause there was a bar but if we would’ve got up our seats would have been taken. The place was clearly short staffed yesterday. We came during the Sunday R&B night so I don't know how the regular kitchen hours are treated, but the service we received was very poor. The only good thing about the place was the music...
