Carne Asada was the toughest, most overcooked meat I've ever been served anywhere. I understand that South American people eat beef well done...but this was another level like shoe leather. Grilled chicken was OK but it was dark meat (hard to mess up). We had an appetizer or dessert that was forgettable.

The server was nice but difficult because he spoke zero English and was very self-conscious about it. To be clear, I have no problem with language barriers, I'm happy to just point at the menu, and happy that immigrants open restaraunts and share their food with us. I also speak enough Spanish to at least understand a Spanish menu easily. This guy was just very nervous. Maybe he's just an anxious personality regardless.

I've never been to South America, but I imagine i got a glimpse of it here. It looks like places that are close to the beach. Music womps out of broken overhead speakers that sound like they've been blown for decades. It feels like a place where James Bond waits to meet a fellow spy, or somewhere Anthony Bourdain would deliver a crafty monolog. But at the end of the day...the food sucks.

Unless you like big piles of soggy plantain chips covered in ketchup, I do do...

Update April 2023 - Look out for sueño Latino’s second location “Sabor K-Tracho” in Maryland Heights. Same food, same exact quality , glad to see they are thriving 😀

Sueño is one of my favorite places in STL and they were PACKED last Sunday, which was reassuring given they opened during the first COVID wave and it’s great to see them thriving. Their parillada has been a go-to for us with dinner parties. The food is super flavorful, fresh, and high in quality. Everything is made to order, and many dishes are topped w/ the crispest tajadas imaginable. Honestly the quality is comparable to what you’ll find in places with much larger Central American populations like Nola, Miami etc. Ive noticed that portions have gotten a bit smaller with prices rising but I get it given the current economics. The quality of their meats, while not steak house quality, is nonetheless excellent for a hole in the wall . A valuable addition to...

This restaurant is truly the best Latin restaurant, standing out not only from others in Cherokee but also as the freshest and most authentic option in all of St. Louis. Unlike other Latin restaurants, anything you order here will be made from scratch just for you, using the freshest ingredients. What sets this place apart is their commitment to high-quality ingredients. They’re not just fresh and healthy; they’re carefully chosen to create those rich, authentic flavors that make Latin food so special and genuinely delicious.

The staff makes you feel at home, going above and beyond to create an experience that’s more than just a meal. You can feel the love in the food and the care in every interaction. Everyone there is super sweet and goes out of their way to make you feel special, showing they really care about ensuring you have a great time. It’s definitely worth dining in, ordering to go,...

Parking: street parking Handicapped parking and accessibility: no parking specifically for Handicapped, only street parking Place: ok decorated, spacious enough for someone in wheelchair, very festive ambiance, good music; loud enough to hear it and low enough to not have to yell your words to have a conversation. Service: very good 👌🏽 from the moment you get there, a polite and friendly server will take care of you. Food: The food is delicious! If you are not familiar with Honduran food, try it here!! You will not be disappointed.

Seriously LOVED this place. Music is loud is some placea but we were able to move to a more quiet table easily. Porzione sizes are huge and the food is beyond good. The pollo con tajadas is everything, get extra dressing because theres a TON of banana. Pastelitos were also really good. Margaritas are sized to be well worth the money, highly recommend the traditional or the passionfruit. We easily got street parking around the corner. Bathrooms were cleans and staff was friendly. Will definitely be back whenever i'm in STL.
