I give it 2 because the staff were sweet and had great customer service. The food was a let down though. As someone that’s lived in Dallas and always had access to amazing authentic tacos, I was looking forward to some authentic tacos on the beloved Cherokee but it just wasn’t that good. The tortilla was delicious and fresh. The sauces were not that great. The chicken was well cooked but not well seasoned — tasted more like the chicken made by the Chinese for fried rice. Good but not for the dish I wanted. The margaritas were a great size for the price but were MAD sweet. A hangover waiting to happen. My sister and her friend literally left a full glass after no more than 5 sips. It did taste like lots of sugar. And the water bottles served were $2, heads up. I expected my eyes to roll from deliciousness especially because there were other Mexicans eating but it was a sad let down. I got basic chick tacos, and had to ask for extra onions and cilantro to take it up more

Our server was a young man and was great. Very attentive (not enough to be too much) and the food was fast / tasty. Chicken fajitas were excellent - the chicken was different than other places, more of a chunk instead of a strip and it was great. The beans were good - the rice ok, the guac fresh and the standard salsa was phenomenal. The other two hot sauces were good too, but the normal one had a hint of heat and great flavor. I'll definitely visit again! Side note - if you are going to bring a largish party you may want to call ahead. Seating is a bit limited and if you go at a busy time it could be a challenge.

Friendly and quick service. The tacos were above average but not the best I’ve had on Cherokee. The best part of the taco was the fresh tortilla. Went on a hot day and it was very warm and muggy inside so the inside vibe was off. Odd that the menu didn’t have prices or much detail at all. Spent $48 after tip for 7 tacos, two beers, and a very large margarita. I like spicy but their house salsa was pretty aggressively hot. The sauces they served on the side were tasty. Will probably come back on a cooler day and try something else on the menu.

We had the most delicious dining experience here yesterday. All five of us vote this restaurant the best Mexican food in the St. Louis area. Among the five of us, we had all the meats - chicken, steak, carnitas, and shrimp. They were high quality, fresh tasting, and cooked to perfection. The vegetables in our meals were also abundant and fresh. We also loved the three different salsas for dipping our chips. Most importantly, the service was also perfect: friendly, warm, and professional. That Mexican food you’re eating at what you think is your favorite restaurant close to home will never taste as good again after your trip here. This is now all of our new favorite Mexican food in STL! p.s. Get a margarita; they’re a...

First time here and I immediately want to come back!

The service was attentive and friendly, and all the food was top notch.

The aguachile verde served with tostados and mayo was my favorite… I discovered that mayo is a game changer for aguachile, but I’ve never had aguachile served with it. (The mayo itself was very good too, that helped)

Their salsa and the menudo were awesome. The beef fajitas were solid too, and a very good portion. I was also super happy with my Paloma. Great fresh handmade tortillas as well

The staff seemed to know the other folks dining in, and so it had a great friendly...
