I bought a Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge + off someone on LetGo. The phone was used with T-Mobile but they told me it was unlocked. They gave me the IMEI number and I made sure everything was clean and cool. Okay, so I buy the phone and when I try to transfer my number to the phone I find out that it is network locked and that the previous owner owed money on their plan. Well the person I bought it from quickly became not so nice and did not want to help me get it unlocked so I ended up in this store PISSED at this point. The guy who helped us was super nice. It took them about 45 minutes to do it and I had my 21 month old with me so 45 minutes in one spot with him never goes over nicely but they entertained him and even gave him a pair of free sunglasses. It cost me $60 which was about $40 cheaper than any other store I called AND they activated my current phone number on to my new phone for FREE when Metro charges $15. I left extremely happy.
So fast forward a week.. I cannot log into Snapchat. After contacting Snapchat's Support I find out that my new phone is rooted and Snapchat does not support rooted phones. For me this is a HUGE problem as I am a tad addicted to it so I NEEDED to have it. So I go back to Communication Depot and they remember me from last time I was there. I find that awesome when a business remembers their customers. Well 5 minutes later I am logged into Snapchat and they don't charge me a penny. I leave even more happy than last time.
Okay fast forward another week and my phone goes haywire. My main screen button, volume buttons and power button is not working. It won't charge either. This all happened after I had my phone in the bathroom with me while giving my son a bath. He got a couple drops of water on it but nothing extreme so I still don't understand what happened. After putting it in rice for a couple days my buttons work but it still will not charge. I once again go to Communication Depot. The same guy who helped me the other two times was there and remembered me again. He tried charging it with a wireless charger and it worked so he recommended me buying the charger rather than paying the $99 it would cost to fix the charging port on my phone. I love the fact that he did not lie to me or up-sell me and the first thing he tried was the cheapest for me. I was nervous that the charger wouldn't fix the issue as the buttons were not working too so he suggested I walk around for a little and see how it charges while I'm gone. We go grab a bite to eat and come back and my phone is almost fully charged. During the time that my phone was in the rice I had called Metro PCS and paid the $15 to change my number back to my old phone. The guy at Communication Depot offered to activate my number back to my new phone, free of charge. I left once again very happy and satisfied.
This is now my go-to store for ALL of my phone needs. I rarely write reviews but this store...
Read moreI hate to be the only one to leave a bad review, but the only reason I considered using Communication Depot's services was because of all the good things I had heard. Also, they were very reasonably priced for their services along with an almost 5 star google review. So considering that, my experience with them left me very disappointed. I called last Monday to see if they serviced the HTC One M8 and if they had and could replace the damaged charger port. The guy on the phone said "Yes we do. Come on in" I go into the store only to find out that they do not have the part and that I should come back Friday when it has been ordered. I called Wednesday just to confirm if they do have the part coming in and a young lady told me that if another person said that they would have it on Friday, then they would have it on Friday. I call again Friday and ask an employee if they have the part needed to fix my phone and he again tells me that they do indeed have the part and I can bring in the phone to have it fixed in an hour. So again, I go into the store for them to tell me that they do not have the part and that they will have it by Monday. Obviously at this point I'm a little more frustrated because either there is some sort of disconnect internally or they're not telling me something/giving me the run around for some odd reason. I call on my lunch break today and I relay to the rep that I have now called twice in the last week over the phone and the person has told me that they have the part, only to drive all the way to the store and be told differently. I asked her to please be sure and check if they have this part before I come into the store for a third time. She puts me on hold and then tells asks me, "Whats your wireless provider?" I tell them it's Verizon. She responds "Oh we don't have that part for Verizon phones." Today, I go to Prestige Electronics and the first question I ask them is if certain parts in phones differ among wireless providers. They said they rarely do and that my particular part is the same regardless of the provider. Now I haven't done my own research to find if this is true or not but regardless, none of the reps at Communications Depot ever asked me what my wireless provider was before when they told me three times that they would have the part in the store... The whole experience with them was frustrating and confusing. If there was some other factor or reason for them not being able to service my phone, I would have still been disappointed but I would've had a little more respect if they would be more honest and transparent with me. Instead of wasting my time and then giving me a pathetic and potentially untruthful reason as to why they couldn't service my phone. Again, I'm disappointed to say the least. I wish you all much success in the future but there's a disconnect in communication or something else internally that you as a business...
Read moreI had an Iphone 5s that needed a screen replacement bad. I am located in Illinois and had contacted 3 local repair shops. The first company CPR was located in Fairview Heights, Il. They gave me a 5 to 7 day turn over time for replacement and had mixed reviews from previous customers. I then called company number two which was Irepair STL. I got an answer machine and left my return information and he has yet after three days to return my phone call. So I called company three in Ilinois, which was Mike's repair service in Edwardsville, Il. He said he would repair my cell phone for $90 and do it from his car while I waited. He was going to be in my area the next day and would call me around 4 PM to set up a time. I called him back by 6:30 and he was running late. He called me back at 7:30 and wanted to then fix my phone in his dark car. What a joke. I then called Mike at Communication Depot after I found his number online. Their reviews were unbelievably good. I met with Mike at 10 AM the next morning and after 20 minutes my Iphone was fixed perfectly and I was out the door and now my wife is happy. The reviews do not tell just how fantastic this company really is. He treated me as if I was his friend and was very Professional. All this was accomplished at a special price of $70. Thanks Mike. Wow !!!! Yes I do recommend This...
