Ok, Let me first say that the Actual owner of this bar seems like a Cool Guy meet him a couple of times. I hate leaving bad Reviews especially small business. I got a house in the area little over a year ago. My house is fairly close to this establishment. So thought it would be cool to check out about 6 months ago. My first experience here wasn't the greatest. I am a Business professional. And my Mother was a bartender for 10 plus years so I know it's a stressful job. This is a cash only bar which it's fine. But put a sign on the front door. I ordered a drink and was informed it was cash only yes they have a ATM inside the bar. I informed the bartender lady I didn't have any cash but I could just run to my house and get cash no big deal. She grabs my drink very rude and dumps it out. This very nice lady saw what she had did. And said I will buy you a drink. Very nice of her. I almost didn't come back to this place after that. I did tell the owner about the experience. So I been to this place 5 times total and never saw the bartender again that dumped my drink out. The other female bartenders all have been very nice. Well the last 2 times I have been here. They hired a new male bartender. Not really sure what his problem is with me. I have tip him every time I got a drink. So the other night me and this person sitting next to me was talking about stuff and how we lived close to one another and we said joking we probably pass by one another houses. The male bartender comes over and decides he going to join the conversation. And I said joking to him I probably walk by your house when I walk my dog. You could tell I was clearly joking the person next to me was laughing. All of a sudden the male bartender said that isnt funny. And I said sorry was just joking. He very rudely told me I was cut off and kept mouthing at me. I again said sorry. I wasn't drunk I only had 3 drinks and it was only around 7:30 at night. Then all of sudden he said i was banned and i couldn't come back. And I said what did I do. His response was causing a disturbance. I said in a normal talking matter I'm causing a disturbance seriously?! I don't really care i got banned I'm not a big bar person. So next time you go here. Quirky Southside bar with a quirky but knowledgeable bartender and a quality selection of reasonably priced local beers, along with some interesting local customer created vintage drinks. First visit to the Tik Tok was about 40 years ago when we were waiting to meet our realtor for our final walkthrough on the house we were buying a block from the Tik Tok. The bar closed a few years later and didn't reopen for a very long time - maybe 4 or 6 years ago. Just returned to St. Louis 2 years ago so not exactly sure if the chronology. I visited Tick Tock for the first time and had a great experience . The crowd was very laid back and chill. There was interesting vintage items all around that kept things interesting. This is a non smoking bar as well. That was a great thing. The bar was pretty packed but we were able to get our drinks quickly.
