The experience was awkward and not impressive. We chose to eat outside due to the nice weather, the patio was nice. However the service team sat us at a picnic table without an open end (although the others were available that had open ends) so my brother in a wheel chair had to sit sideways. They were helping tables around us and didn't seem to notice us trying to get him comfortable. The entire service of our table they did not once ask him if he needed anything different. I've worked in service and I would have been able to tell this wasn't an ideal set up. They also never brought us or offered a high chair for our one year old so we held him the entire meal. They brought the table near us one. The server had A trainee, but he himself could not answer any questions directly. Anything we asked about the menu for instance (cousin is gluten free) he would have to go back and ask. So this delayed a lot of things. My cousin asked to have a gluten free crepe in place of a tortilla on the breakfast burrito, stating she understood she would not be able to eat it like a burrito. This confused both servers. They asked the kitchen, then came back and explained yes but it wont be edible like a burrito(obviously). Another server started serving us the wrong drinks. When I got my drink (7$ earl grey hot chocolate) it did not have any earl grey flavor. We had to remind them to bring a black coffee out as well. When food was served, my sister in laws meal had to be fixed because they put regular gravy on instead of the vegan. Another server tried to serve us more food (wrong table) while we were eating food. The place was pretty calm and no wait. Food was decent. The restaurant was clean and nice. The service team didn't seem to be able to problem solve, or notice details (no high chair, wrong orders, etc); however they were polite. The lack of being able to help answer gf questions was disappointing, especially since the menu doesn't even have gf indication by items. I ordered stuffed French toast (seasonal one with pears and mascarpone and a pear sauce drizzle); it did not seem to be stuffed or drizzled with anything. Any things that a server should be able to observe and try to remedy, went unnoticed. I don't think having to ask for a high chair for example should be necessary, it should be clear to the server to ask the guest and or just bring one over. This was Sunday at...
Read moreA friend and I went to brunch at Roosters this past Sunday for the first time and y'all the food was sooooo good. I had a breakfast scramble #1 and an order of pancakes. All of it was good, but that sauce on the breakfast scramble was the bomb diggity. My friend said it was a mango chutney, but whatever it was it ate every last bit of it. I hadn't had a breakfast out that tasted this good and I'm going to go back for more. The pancakes were fine and very fluffy, but I'm stuck on that scramble#1. The restaurant was nicely decorated with cute pictures of painted roosters around the walls. The seating was different for me as I was expecting individual seating, but majority of the seating was long dinner table style meaning that you're sitting at a long long table with others you may not know next to you. This was different for me, but wasn't a big hang up. We still had enough room to spread out arms and eat. There were a few tables along the walls that were 4 seater or 2 seater tables. As long as you're friendly and don't mind eating next to strangers then you'll be just fine. That's the joy of life right? The Staff person we had was nice and cordial. Our order was taken and delivered within a good amount of time. The service was great. Roosters is wheelchair accessible for entry and dining at the tables along the walls because the long family style tables are elevated. Someone in a wheelchair will not be able to dine at those tables well, but the shorter side tables are perfect. Upon leaving I noticed a small gift shop on the side with t shirts for sale. I didn't check them out, buy did see the area. Next time I'll check it out. Overall this was a great place for brunch and I will be going back. If you have children this place is family friendly as I saw many family units present for brunch. So go and...
Read moreVisited on a Saturday morning at about 11. This place came highly recommended from friends. I left disappointed.
The service was slow. Our server complained to us about their technology and about where we were sitting. She didn't know what items were sold out.
We placed our orders, 4 entrees, a side of bacon and doughnuts to share. I asked for the doughnuts to come out first and she said they would.
Almost 10 minutes pass and she comes back to the table. Two of the entrees are sold out. So we select other items. No problem... until she came back 5 minutes later because she didn't write our order down.
Fifteen minutes later, a completely different server came out with food. Started to give it to us, but one of the entrees was wrong. So he walked away with it all... a few more minutes pass and he brings back the tray. And 3 of the people at my table got their food. We sent back the incorrect item. The doughnuts, which the server said would come out first, never arrived.
At this point I would have expected our server to come by... or better yet the manager... well I had to get up to find a manager. And the server showed up later confused about why we didn't have all of our food.
Yes they took the doughnuts and entree of the bill. But we never got an apology. Instead we got an excuse that "the kitchen was just behind".
I intentionally took 2 days before I left this review. I was angry on Saturday. This place came highly recommended. I was looking forward to it. The menu sounds delicious. I just dint knew since my brunch never arrived. According to our server, the kitchen staff is awful (she complained about them to us at the table). And clearly the management, at least the one I spoke to, don't care enough to visit our table.
Probably won't be back. Don't see...
