Oh my goodness YUM!! Let me first day, I got to spend breakfast and lunch at Homegrown for an event and every single thing I consumed was incredible! I'm just sad I forgot to take all the pics!

First, I had an iced decaf Americano or latte, I cannot remember which, and it so refreshing. As someone who is incredible particular about what I put in my body I was continuously impressed 👍

The coffee was so good and it did not give me a headache. They use Pink House Alchemy syrups in their coffees and it was a delicious flavor, made with real vanilla and I could pronounce every ingredient on the back of the bottle, win!

Next, I had the avocado sourdough toast and sweet potatoes for breakfast. So so good! First, there was so much avocado on the bread, I was seriously impressed. It was paired with some tomatoes and the flavor was delicious. Plus, the sweet potatoes were flavored very well and it was delicious. My favorite part... The sourdough was like a French bread cut and it was thick enough that the bread did not get mushy. Yum!

Then, we had lunch and OH MY GOODNESS! I am so sad I did not take a picture of my CALIFORNIA BURGER with chips, but it was legit one of the BEST burgers I have ever had and ate so quickly I forgot to snap a pic!

Homegrown only uses Thousands Hills, grass-fed, grass-finished beef, and man does it ever show! I am not sure what the burger was cooked in, but I know it most likely was not any seed oils!!!!, but it seemed like it was cooked in a delicious butter. Honestly, the flavor, the doneness, the mayo ... All of it was knock out! The chips were yummy too!

Oh wait and the ketchup... Homemade IN HOUSE! I could have eaten it with a spoon. I didn't use the ketchup on my burger, cuz why mess with that deliciousness, so I was dipping my chips in it just to eat more!

I also had a glass of their Blueberry Kavender Lemon Kombucha from Deane's Kombucha ON TAP!! One cool fact, Deane's Kombucha is a local business as well, so I'm all about supporting two small businesses in one!

This drink was so good and refreshing. I get headaches from caffeine and bubbly drinks very easily and neither the coffee, yes even decaf usually bothers me, not the kombucha bothered me!! Woooohooo!

Lastly, my peers had different salads... Which once I finished devouring my lunch I finally realized I forgot to take photos hahahha, so I snapped a few pics of the Thai salad with Salmon! Y'all their peanut sauce is made IN HOUSE.

My peers also had the Power Bowl and The Beet Salad for their lunches and everyone said their food was absolutely delicious, refreshing, light, and filling!!

The manager on duty was also incredible, she took such GREAT CARE of us, was friendly, extremely hard working, and very knowledgeable.

Plus, Drew was working and he was great to chat and ask questions about all their food and ingredients as well!

I cannot recommend Homegrown highly enough and I also cannot wait to go back and try more of their menu!...

When I first heard about Home Grown, I was so excited to have another sit-down restaurant in the area that not only serves weekend brunch (not many places in the STMA/Hanover area do!) but has lighter, fresher, healthier options. The atmosphere is wonderful, I love the modern industrial coffee shop vibe.

Drinks: I ordered the Blueberry Norwegian 75 cocktail, which is typically made with gin, lemon, a house blueberry smash, and topped with cava brut. I substituted the gin for vodka. It was a very well balanced, refreshing cocktail and was on the sweeter side without being super sugary. I’m looking forward to trying more of their cocktails in the future. My husband had a Diet Coke (restaurants always get bonus points from us when they serve Coke products!).

Food: We started with the HG French Onion Dip which is served with kettle chips. The dip was really delicious, although we both thought the onions could have been cut up just a bit smaller. We love onions, but we either ended up with hardly any dip or half an onion on your chip - there was no in between. That said, it would not stop us from ordering it again and it was a great appetizer.

For our entrees, I ordered the Cluckin’ Salad Sandwich with a side house salad. The chicken salad was SO good. It had the perfect amount of crunch and flavor and the portion size was decent. The tarragon added a really unique taste. The side salad itself was pretty basic - mixed greens, tomatoes, red onions, and carrots - but the star of the show was the house-made ranch dressing! Don’t skip the ranch, it’s incredible. My husband ordered the Flight Risk which consisted of 6 tacos - shrimp, beef, and chicken. He felt the meat was under-seasoned, but otherwise enjoyed his meal. The pineapple slaw on top was great and honestly made the dish, without that we think the tacos would have been pretty bland. This is a large dish that could easily be shared between 2 people.

Service: We came in around 5pm on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away. It took several minutes for us to be greeted at our table, but the bartender eventually noticed and came and took our drink order while we waited for our server. Our server was friendly and attentive after the initial wait, and checked in on us multiple times throughout our visit. The food came out to our table promptly.

Overall, it’s not my absolute favorite new restaurant and I don’t think this will be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think this is a great addition to the community for those looking for food made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and I hope they are here to stay! I look forward to visiting again in the future to check out the brunch menu and try more of...

First off, I'm glad another option has opened up in the area. The atmosphere definitely sets the expectations high for the experience. Lindsey was a great server, very kind, and checked in on us just the right amount. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner.

When first looking at the menu, nothing really stood out to me as a "I must try that!" Which isn't usually the case for me. I was somewhat surprised by the diversity of the menu, while also underwhelmed by the options. Flat breads and build-a-burger was not what I was expecting. So I figured check out ole reliable, a steak sandwich. The description certainly sounded tasty! Again, I was left a bit underwhelmed. The steak was a bit chewy in some parts, and frankly just wasn't very flavorful. If there is some seasoning, I recommend giving it a few more shakes, going forward.

The brussel sprouts were good, they were swimming a bit and had to shake off the excess oil/sauce quite a bit before enjoying.

The specialty cocktails also didn't quite hit as hoped. The sangria was definitely a success, refreshing and fruity! The passion fruit margarita tasted like every other margarita I've had anywhere better than Applebee's. The kombucha cocktail left me wanting as well. Again, it was refreshing, but just not as flavorful as one might hope, considering how flavorful kombucha can be.

I very much so understand that the business is new, which I hope means you are willing to adapt and improve upon some things. My main critique would be to kick the flavors up a notch. Be that the passion fruit added to a marg, or the seasoning to a steak.

It was not a bad experience, but underwhelming is definitely the word that sticks in my mind. I plan to return again sometime and hope for a better experience, and maybe some new options. Vegetarian, perhaps?

I want this business to thrive, great cuisine is in short supply in these outer suburbs. I believe HomeGrown is on the cusp of greatness, and if they just keep experimenting and keep an open mind, we could see...

The atmosphere and interior design of this restaurant initially set high expectations — the Nordic-inspired aesthetic is well-executed and inviting, offering a promising first impression. Unfortunately, the service and food experience didn’t quite match the setting. The staff appeared very young and seemingly inexperienced, particularly in areas like food service, bartending, and general hospitality. I ordered a maple old fashioned, and it arrived in a visibly dirty glass. The drink itself was poorly mixed, with the maple syrup pooled at the bottom and no proper emulsification — essentially booze floating on top of syrup. I returned it and asked for a new one, but the second wasn’t much better. At that point, I chose to deal with it, but the lack of execution was disappointing, especially for a drink that should be a showcase item. As for the food, portion sizes felt underwhelming for the price point. The burger was overcooked and under-seasoned, while the cheese steak, though decent, was lacking in both size and flavor depth. It’s clear the kitchen has potential but is missing the mark on consistency and seasoning. In its current state, this establishment would benefit greatly from hiring a more experienced bartender and refining both its menu and execution in the kitchen. If it wants to compete with local standouts like BK Tap House, Main Street Farmer, or even Hen & The Hog just up the road, some meaningful adjustments are needed.
