North of The Border Restaurant — Restaurant in Stafford Township

Very cool ambiance and decor going on inside. Gave off an authentic Mexican / Californian vibe. We did take-out so I only enjoyed the atmosphere as I waited for my food. For $60 we got an order of Quesabirrias, Mixta Birria, and a Chicken Quesadilla along with a Horchata and Harritos drink. Definitely falls within that $10-$20 range but I would say it's at the higher end of that. All orders came in 3's and everything was filled to the brim. These tacos / quesadillas / mulitas were everything but light. They were some hefty tacos, packed with meat so you get your money's worth. If you don't eat much, I wouldn't be surprised if you split 1 order between 2 people. The Quesabirrias and Mulitas were definitely enjoyed the most. The birria dipping sauce had a good flavor. If you can't handle spice at all, keep in mind the birria does have a very slight little kick to it. If you enjoy Birria Tacos, definitely...

How hard is it, "no mayo" ???

ordered a torta de milanesa with no mayo. Went out on my lunch to pick it up. Returned to work, It came smothered in it.

Called back to have this fixed. There was a silence for a minute is i said hello? She said one moment. The phone hungup.

Called back. She couldn't speak English. She used Google translate to tell me she will call me in 5 minutes. Thankfully a coworker of mine speaks Spanish and was able to bridge the communication gap. Why didn't she tell me on phone call #1 when I was trying to customize by saying no mayo?

They were unable to provide a refund because I paid with card. They said no to dropping off a new one. But they said I can pick one up tomorrow.... So I guess I'll be getting it tomorrow and hoping there's no mayo on it.

But moving forward... never ordering from here...

I placed an order in the store. I asked for chicken chimichanga. I asked what it came with and she said rice beans and salad. I asked if they had birria and she said yes. I order birria tacos. I get home.. the chimichanga was not fried, just with sliced cheese on top, raw peppers inside. No rice or beans. My birria tacos came with no consume. I called to ask about the consume and rice/beans. She said birria doesn’t come with the consume there, they don’t have it.. I asked how they make it if they don’t have it. She said that’s just how they do it. They offered to give rice and beans if I came back. The food had no flavor.. Honestly, Chilis has more flavor...
