Capt. Benny's — Restaurant in Stafford

5 Stars for the manager Patty. Employee that first greeted me would've warranted 0 stars. Dinner tonight with family and went inside and employee said "wherever you want to sit!" Sat at a table that needed to be cleaned....ok, no problem. Employee comes to me and says, "so you're just gonna sit at a dirty table, ok". I then started to explain myself and she walked away. She said, "you know what... don't even worry about it!" I'm like, huh? She comes back cleans the table and I asked if she was having bad day. She responded with attitude, "I'm okay are you???" Immediately ask for manager, and she says, "She's inside somewhere...she's new and I don't even know her name (talking about the mangager)...she's filling in for the manager that is supposed to be here". Found the manager, Patty, and explained the situation. Told her I was just trying to have a nice dinner with my fam and didn't appreciate the rude attitude. Patty more than fixed it and waited on us and delivered excellent service throughout. Saved them from a totally negative review. Please.....fix your employee's foul attitude. Been going here for years. Grew up in Stafford area and never experienced such blatant disrespect from any waitresses at this establishment. She didn't even care how disrespectful she was to me and I didn't even do anything. 5 stars for Patty...0 for employee...

Used to come here a lot for the beer & oysters but I moved away. A few days ago, I came down to visit and went with my parents. They were the ones who suggested it! Let's just say I never thought it would be my parents' kind of place. But... wow. The food tasted better than it did before. The sweet tea was perfect, I think the frying grease must have been delivered that day because there was zero hint of extra, unwanted flavor (if you know, you know. Ick!), and everyone was so nice! There was more food than I'd expected; my stuffed shrimp was actually stuffed correctly and cooked perfectly so nothing squished out and fell off the shrimp (i had to give my dad the last one bc 6 didn't seem like a lot until you get these!), and those hushpuppies! The only downside is that the parking lot is enough for maybe 12 cars, and street parking is a gamble bc it's not lit well, the are ditches on either side of the narrow blacktop road, and people in Houston drive like maniacs. It was a wonderful surprise to come back to a place I haven't seen in 5ish years, only to find it's way better than...

I usually have a pleasurable experience with consistency. However on yesterday I ordered the whole catfish and shrimp special. I also brought a friend with me and had bragged on how good and tasty the food is. So the food comes out and it looks wonderful, however upon the first bite, the food had absolutely no seasoning.

I brought this to the attention of the young man behind the bar and instead of trying to make it right, he tells me the food is seasoned in a rather rude way and brings me a salt shaker with seasons in it.

My friend didn't eat the food at all because it was so bland. I normally have nothing bad to say about this establishment but I don't know the young mans name but he has worked there for years, he could definitely use a lesson in customer service. Also I would like to think that skin color played no part on his unwillingness to assist, but he had no issue in making things right and making sure things were ok for people who looked like him.

I don't see myself returning and will definitely take my business elsewhere where customer service...
