I was recently at checkout when I witnessed something that disturbed me. One of the employees told two Hispanic coworkers that they should not be speaking Spanish and even raised her voice while saying it. Another employee then joined in, agreeing with her.
As a Black customer, I found this behavior to be not only extremely rude and disrespectful, but also racist and discriminatory. No one should ever be made to feel ashamed for speaking their language. We live in a country that values freedom of expression, and employees have every right to speak Spanish if they choose.
I especially want to recognize the cashier at Register 8, who remained professional during this situation. She did not argue back and simply said she didn’t have time to be going back and forth, which showed maturity and professionalism.
I strongly hope that the employees who were treated this way report this incident to management. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable and needs to be addressed. Without the hard work and dedication of Hispanic employees, many businesses—including this one—would not be what they are today. I do not support or agree with what I witnessed, and I expect it to be...
Read moreMy mother found a dress in the clearance area with multiple red stickers. The one on top pricing it at $15. When we get to the register. We were assisted by a South Asian woman. She proceeds to take the dress and takes the red stickers off and walks to show the price to her co workers. She comes back and tells us the price is not $15 but its $200 something dollars. My mother and I decline the purchase of it. The issue was not the price being labeled wrong it was the fact the the cashier kept whispering and showing the price to any co workers that passed by which caused them to look at us in a accusing way. As if we were trying to steal or had changed the tag. The cashier's demeanor also changed from being nice to accusatory with an attitude. We continued our transaction feeling very uncomfortable. I love marshalls but this will be a location i will...
Read moreI went there looking for a new luggage set. I travel a lot and need to replace my luggage about every 1 year-18 months. I found a wide selection and plenty of good options. I ended up buying a really nice London Fog Oxford set with the 20" carryon Expandable Spinner and the 15" underseater with wheels for under $200! I saw the same one on sale at Macy's for $390. It's so sturdy, and I can easily see the technology used on the wheels is really good, just by the way it balances and rolls. Plus, it's beautiful. I'm hopeful it'll last me a little longer than my luggage...
